The "My Favorite Piece From Your Collection" Game!

184 posts in this topic

Question about this game:

Can you play over and over? If you picked a favorite from a gallery on page 3 of the thread and now we're on page 10 and someone else's gallery is 'up to bat,' can you pick again?

As a big DeCarlo fan myself - I really dig the Betty #12 cover. Unusually large figures for a DeCarlo cover and cool that it made the Art of Archie book.

I LOVE this Jeremy Bastian piece. Would be awesome if you had some close up shots because I can tell there is a ton of detail on it!!! :cloud9:

Sure, you can pick from someone again, so long as you have a little space in between (so no doing the person who just did yours, but if a page or two of people has passed, then it's cool). This keeps it fun for everyone. :)

You have a super collection. Gotta go with your Tim Sale Bats n Cats

My collection again since we can play more than once:

http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=103766

You have some really cool stuff there, and as you can guess by my username that what pages I liked the most.

Page 30 of issue one of the 90's deadpool series, I liked the page from #4, but eh bottom inked panel on the other one sealed it for me. http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1189961

Heres mine, only 8 pieces, but all gotten with love. I have few other pages but haven't uploaded them yet. http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetailsearch.asp?gcat=89824&ATy=3&pm=1π=54&order=

It might only be 8 pieces, but there's some real quality there. Love the Moon Knight and SVTU pages, but gotta go with some old new-school Kirby goodness.

So many great pieces to choose from Roger, but, I'm going to go with your Barry Smith/Jeff Jones Heroes Against Hunger Batman and Superman page.

I mean, that really isn't something you see every day - wow!! It's an interesting penciller/inker combination that works for me, even if the art is, as you said, a bit loose. :applause:

I could spend hours looking over your collection but since I am who I am. This is my favorite piece:

I could have also gone with the ditko panel page.

Here is my collection. It doesn't come close to many others but I like it:

I confess to not being terribly familiar with McNiven's work. Aware of his Old Man Logan run, but never took much notice. Going to dig into his work now, thanks to you and this thread.

I mean, how cool is this?

McNiven is an awesome artist...I prefer his work inked by Mark Morales but I am in the minority there apparently. If you can image search for his Steranko homage on What If Jessica Jones blah blah blah I expect you to be impressed. (I had a chance to buy the original and passed and now Mark won't sell it to me now!)

I had a hard time with your gallery, love those Sandman pieces and almost went with the Hempel ad. But instead I chose this...

Okay, this was an easy choice. I had to go with this piece. Anything that feels the touch of Barry Windsor-Smith's pen is pure gold. Even as weird a concept as this crossover. Just beautiful work!

Just recently opened up an account on CAF...this is one of my favorite pieces...its totally amazing in person, 3 Dimensional when looking at it...By Joe Jusko

Not exactly original art BUT it was used for the cover of "overstreet guide to collecting comic and animation art" publication..

http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1240323

No, Steve, the way the game is played you are to pick a piece from the last person who has posted CAF gallery, not your own. It's your favorite piece from another person's gallery, not your own.

I've been following Gary Martin on DeviantArt and CAF for some time now. EVERY, and I mean EVERY commission he posts is incredible. I can't wait to get a page (or several) of his of my own some day.

So, I chose this MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS page he inked as a favorite.

Of all the cool pages, this one stands out as my favorite. I thought it was a very creative idea at the time and extremely well executed. One of my favorite pieces on the whole site.

You have a very interesting and eclectic collection, Claudio !

I apologize if I'm going for the obvious, but who can resist such a powerful

illustration of Doomsday by it's creator ?

So here is my pick from Claudio's collection:

Doomsday by Dan Jurgens & Brett Breeding

Tough one for me, Gal as I was/am a bit of a Marvel Zombie, I hadn't seen/read many of the pages in your collection.

I was of course reading Batman during Bat-Mania though, and so the Breyfogle stuff connects with me. This one is especially cool!

J.Sid, I love the Ditko-Byrne combo. It's quite unique.

Well, I don't want this thread to fall off the first page, so....

This was an easy pick for me, Jovi. It's this cover right here. Kitson's work on the book left an indelible mark on the character. And of all the covers to the series, this is, without question, one of the best. Just the central figure surrounded by flames. Absolute perfection!
