BZ in hospital

It is so thoughtful to let us know, with all the worry your family is going through right now.

We all love Bangzoom. He is the soul of these boards, and one of the most generous people here.

Hundreds of fellow boardies will post here to wish him a speedy and pain free recovery, as do I. Please pass on our good wishes as and when you can.

We should be the least of your worries, and his, but further news would be welcome as and when possible.

In a situation such as this we are fairly helpless, but we stand vigil, and are here to offer comfort if we possibly can. So say we all.

Michael

Very well said. I'm sure we all echo these sentiments.

Best of luck for a full recovery.

Hey Bang, if you're reading this, hurry up and get back on your feet. I NEED to see more of those killer Thrilling Mysteries pulps. I'm getting real bored with the current HA auction and I really don't care any more when the Atomic Age started...

Miss ya Buddy!

Such terrible news, Mrs. BZ. I've never met Glenn but through his posts and our PMs we've created a bond of friendship and respect. I'm sure many of us here feel that way.

My prayers are with you and your family for his speedy recovery.

Hi Everyone, This is Mrs. BZ. I'm writing to let you know that my husband won't be able to post here for awhile since he suffered a stroke early Thursday morning and is in the hospital. They've also found an abnormality in his heart which may have caused the blood clot in his brain. So far, his speech and motor skills are fine but he's lost most of the vision in one eye, his memory is impaired and his heart condition needs to be treated. The doctors are trying to dissolve the blood clot and they'll know more about his heart when he undergoes additional tests on Monday. This is a scary time for us and our 12-year-old daughter, but we're hoping for the best as we travel down the long road to his recovery. I know how much he has enjoyed his friendship with you over the years since he started this thread and hope you'll keep him in your thoughts.

Mrs. BZ, I think we all know that times like this are very stressful and very scary, but it is true that modern medicine performs miracles. I've known several stroke victims who suffered initial impairment of memory, speech and motor skills who made amazing recoveries. Usually small steps at first, but like a ball rolling down hill the recovery accelerated with the passage of time. That BZ's speech and motor skills are fine so far is a great sign, and I'm confident that his memory will improve. We will all miss BZ and his wisdom as he recovers, but we're lucky that in the meantime we can re-read his thousands of posts wherein he shared his insights and knowledge. As the father of a 12 year old myself, I can understand how your daughter must feel, so please give her a hug from all of us and tell her that many people are pulling for her Dad.
