I'm usually more of an old books guy but I was in my LCS today and this variant cover for this book caught my eye and struck me as a real E.C.-style throwback, something those guys would have come up with if they were drawing today. Anyone else think this has the chops to gain some heat at some point?

You don't see a lot of cover speculation (that I can think of) with companies that aren't mainstream, so I'd say no. Zenescope's base seems to be those that aren't aware that porn can be had for free on the internet.

Thanks! Like I said, I just stumbled across it while slabbing stuff. Never heard of zenescope before (not odd, I haven't pulled any new titles in a few years; collecting mostly golden and silver age these days). FWIW, this particular book wasn't what you would call pornographic; pretty good crime/horror story inside, with a classic EC twist ending. I was pleasantly surprised by the readability. I just thought it was a shocking throwback cover, but I got an actual comic to boot!

There are some winners in the New 52 1:25 ratios.

The Allred Batman '66 had a few like Batwoman and Batgirl. But more of those have surfaced an the bottom fell out.

There are a few Robot Chicken and Scribblenauts. The MAD covers never really hit. The Steampunks are the clear winners.

It's a cool cover (I got one because I have a standing order at my LCS for all Bat-related books and variants) but I don't see it ever reaching AH S-Girl territory. Who is the artist? If I can't identify the artist automatically, that means they probably don't have a huge following (yet!). Also, while it's a cool Batgirl Image, there's still a Turtle lurking in the background, and the big Nickelodeon logo as well.  I could definitely see it breaking out a bit, but AH Supergirl is pretty exclusive territory. 

Still, cool cover ,and I'm glad I (and you!) have got one!

Thanks. Looking at recent issues on comichron.com, that would put distribution at somewhere around 2000 copies. Based on the popularity of these characters, I could see it picking up but I don't expect it to match the Supergirl LoSH levels on the secondary market. It will be something I follow to find out.

Hmm.. How do  i check who the artist is?  I'm going to frame this and put it on the wall a few months.  Love it.
