This thread makes me long for true panel pages. These days, most of these images would be blown up into a splash page. I always wonder how different comics would look today if original art wasn't such a hot commodity. Back in the day, a Marvel editor told me that McFarlane always drew a big panel on each page because he knew it would sell for more as an original.
