Robot Man
OK, I drifted through the Heritage auction like an orphan kid looking into the toy store window at Christmas... I quickly realized that there was no hope for a poor boy like me to obtain anything there. So, as I always do, I move on down the street and find something even more rare and cool that I could actually hope to get. Whatta you know? My buddy Ted Hake is selling a nice Tec #27 so I decided to look. Took a drool and then moved on. What did I find but some super rare and cool comic book related premiums. Most I already have, but got my eye on a few things... Here's the stuff I don't really need but VERY rare and VERY cool for a fraction of what is going on over in Texas right now. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I aim to add a couple pretties to the junk pile pretty soon. Super Rare Daredevil postcard (totally unknown piece) https://hakes.com/Auction/ItemDetail/220167/GOLDEN-AGE-DAREDEVIL-CRIMEBUSTER-LEV-GLEASON-PREMIUM-POSTCARD Small Superman club pin (scarce wartime issue) https://hakes.com/Auction/ItemDetail/219094/SUPERMEN-OF-AMERICA-RARE-78-SIZE-CLUB-BUTTON-BRIEFLY-USED-IN-1941 Superman Action Comics Ring (king of the premium rings!) https://hakes.com/Auction/ItemDetail/219891/ACTION-COMICS-RARE-AND-98-MINT-VERSION-OF-THE-MEMBER-SUPERMAN-1940-CONTEST-PRIZE-RING Superman Christmas Card (another unknown item) https://hakes.com/Auction/ItemDetail/220162/GOLDEN-AGE-SUPERMAN-PROMOTIONAL-DC-COMICS-CHRISTMAS-CARD Justice Society Badge (super rare DC offices prototype version) https://hakes.com/Auction/ItemDetail/219937/JUNIOR-JUSTICE-SOCIETY-OF-AMERICA-1942-IN-HOUSE-PROTOTYPE-BRASS-BADGE Wonder Woman Sensation Comics Pinback! https://hakes.com/Auction/ItemDetail/217383/WONDER-WOMAN-SENSATION-COMICS-HIGH-GRADE-1942-COMIC-BOOK-PREMIUM-BUTTON porcupine48

Well, my experience is that when the smoke clears and the hammer falls, the fraction gets pretty close to 100%!

Maybe so but compare the price of what a rare Wonder Woman Sensation Comics button goes for to the price of a similar condition copy of the real obtainable book it was advertised in and the button is a real bargain. Also, in the case of Wonder Woman, there are only 3 examples that I know of, of Golden Age premiums or toys. I guess, this fish swims in the side stream sometimes... You know a lot more about this than me, but buttons and other comic collectibles do seem to go cheap given their rarity. The thing I like least about Hake's is their convoluted closing process. I don't full understand it, so I just throw in my best bid and let it ride. From a consignor's point of view that means that -- compared with Heritage, CLink, and CC -- there's no chance that I'll get caught up in last minute bidding and drive up the price. I'm pretty sure there are a few more than 3. It's scarce but there are probably a dozen or so.

The Sensation Comics button, The Wonder Woman Valentine and the Wonder Woman Infantile Paralysis post card. If any one knows of any other GA Wonder Woman items, I'd love to know about them. Robot Man
As per sagii's suggestion and the fact the Academy Awards are Sunday, how 'bout a "Hurray for Hollywood" subset? I really don't have that many scanned and know I have missed a lot of good ones. So as always, feel free to add to the parade!
