You can never learn too much in the junk business. Anybody see Collectors Call on MeTV last night? A new show featuring collectors of all genres. A fun learning experience. But...I didn't know about this Comics on Parade Booster version until I spied it on the bay. Was more thanhappy to be the opening and winning bidder. There aren't a whole lot of comic book club premiums I don't have or know about. This was an un-expected surprise! Mostly GA/SA and boy was it expensive. These folks really have a bad case of “lazy eye”. You know when your eye tools to the right side of the guide without regard to condition. Had a fine issue of Weird Science Fantasy priced at $1K! They also had a coverless GL #1 from 1941 priced at $1,800 I think. Left empty handed... Well another super rare comic book premium appeared in my mail box. From the same period and the same publisher. Around 1938 Tip Top Comics offered a set of send away “spinners”. They were cello tops with an arrow and a heavy lead weight in back with good luck symbols. Not sure what you were supposed to do with them. Probably told in an early issue of Tip Top that I don’t have. I know of a Tarzan, Katzanjammer Kids, Ella Cinders and this one. Probably did one for every character in the book but these are the only ones I’ve seen. Didn’t know about this one. As much as I’d like the Tarzan, I’m happy to settle for this one for now. I have the Katzenjammer Kids version of this spinner, and I've seen this one and the Tarzan spinner only a few times over the past 20-25 years.
