I think it would be reasonable to disclose whether this happened a week ago or months ago since people have mentioned reaching out to local comic shops, etc. If this happened months ago then the books are probably long gone, but if it was recent then those efforts could be helpful. After all I think most can picture themselves in such a situation and wondering what they would do, what would I do. But once past that, what next? What needs to be done? You stated 4 or 5 times the sole purpose of this post is to help others. You've been asked about scans, a list of books, the Craigslist ad, etc etc. You have to admit, you got us hanging on for details. You are helping us and it appears some want to help you back. By you leaving out details, not having the Craigslist ad, ( I think they are saved so renewals are simple after 7days) no scans or details that can help identify books yet, I think you are leaving some suspicious minds questioning this whole theft or what really happened. Now you say it's not something that just happened and won't say when it did. There are so many details omitted that just beg to be answered. So now drop everything. I don't care to probe you for details, but in my mind I think here's a guy who don't break a sweat over losing a few boxes of so called leftovers, perhaps you over stated the values like most for insurance purposes. The meeting of a stranger is also something I keep thinking. When I meet someone, I'm like what kinda care you driving or what are you wearing etc. the "kid" pops up and l knows you are the guy? Then vaporizes leaving you as you were with a great wealth of valuable books and you are not getting the vibe to get out of Dodge. Getting the call/text to meet another person at another place. Both times your not on camera, not safe and again how did you meet? You must have the text messages. Yes meet me here I'm driving a white van. Are they also deleted? So many holes in the story, no facts, no strong evidence, lots of deleted evidence that would help your cause. Sorry if you feel I may be nosey or not minding my own business but like you, I'm interested in helping people learn from this situation. Not to meet off camera, not to put yourself in a compromising position, not to delete evidence, to have details or a plan just in case and I'm talking a detailed list and photos. No witnesses? No cameras. Lots of questions and little answers so I am see why some are wondering what's up. Perhaps you aren't in the mood to fill in the blanks. But you dropped this here on us. Your leaving us to create our own reality at to what really happened. Nobody here needs to know Craigslist ain't safe. I think everyone knows it. Hope whatever really happened has a positive outcome for you. I also wish you could spell it all out. And post some details about what we need to be on the look out for. Scans etc. I'm hoping to help you and others by getting to the facts. Not interrogate by all means. I am going to add to it with a few of my own: I do not sell anything over Craigslist that is worth at most a few hundred dollars. I only take items with me to the meet up what the buyer has predetermined that they are buying Meeting is at the mall food court. I do not go straight home after the meet up. Your posts on page one were to notify people to keep a look out for stolen books, and help protect people in the area who might run into them, but you leave out how long the books have been gone and when this happened? You're not indulging ME. I was trying to help YOU. But I agree. Didn't the popo ask for a copy of the craigslist ad? Thread took a strange turn when Solar Boy did come over the top rope and, with no evidence, he accused nameless boardies of having his books. Many of the responses were equally without support of fact and judgmental. On the boards we certainly reap what we sow. Let's cut Solar Boy a break though as we all would be mfing bitter if we experienced the same thing.
