Always interesting to play the connections game. Golden’s earlier BA art was quite Wrightson-influenced, very different to his later style.

Agreed.  Mike’s style evolved several times throughout his career.

1970’s style at DC was influenced by Wrightson and carried over to his early Marvel work on Micronauts, where it morphed  into his hyper-detailed phase.  Followed that up by going more cartoony with Bucky O’Hare (ugh!), Xmen Annual 7 and came to full fruition with his work on The ‘Nam.

His style evolved yet again when he became Marvel’s art director in the late 1990’s

Sadly he seems to have changed his style to whatever that is.  He had a recent Dr. Strange cover drawn in the same style, though not quite as poor quality in my opinion.

Woof! But at least I can sort of see some of his style peaking through on that one. The Wolverine cover doesn't resemble it at all other than his signature.

Cover is fine but like with many Liefelds art you should not look it too long unless you want to find something wrong with it. Like those guns. Is that Spiral holding those guns? It cannot be 6 different person. Can it?!?
