This describes the entire history of Hollywood. What a cesspool, just like a Scorcese film.

I enjoyed it, but didn't love it.   Thats the best I can do on this movie.   The final scene with Chadwick was touching, probably the highlight of the film for me.

The accents were the biggest niggle.  The Jamaican and American accents were very cliche'd.   But that was the biggest wrinkle in the acting performances for me, so overall everything else was high quality across the broad cast.

Finally saw Wakanda Forever last night. As much as I enjoyed the first film, and really appreciated Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa, I couldn't completely connect with this film. It was okay - not good and far from great.

The cinematography under the water was far too dark, and you could tell the supporting Talokan actors appeared to be holding their breath in scenes. Though the dark scenes were shot this way purposely.

How those Talokan underwater scenes in ‘Wakanda Forever’ were made

Even the motivations for the war between Talokan and Wakanda felt forced more than key to the story.

I did like how Shuri's spiritual journey due to her thirst for vengeance led to Killmonger guiding her direction. To the point of her hiding his appearing to her, knowing her motivation would be counter to T'Challa's recognition vengeance brought nothing but pain and loss.

The third act big fight on the Wakandan ship also felt forced. Namor's forces so focused on this one location just to have the big battle was pointless in the grand picture. And the final disruption of the Talocan's victory at the last minute was anticlimactic as you knew it would happen. No real tension we could lose key characters.

The most emotional scenes were near the end with flashbacks to T'Challa and the reveal he has a son. That was definitely moving in both cases.

Overall 5.0/10 for me. Pales in comparison to the first film's impact to the MCU and the comic book genre.

Watched this last night as well. Visually spectacular as expected but the story flowed pretty straight forward and predictable with no real surprises. Still not a fan of changing Subby’s origin, I get why they did but he is who he is. Should have stuck with Atlantean, a good writer could have made it still unique. The connection to vibranium just seemed forced. Did not like how they shoe horned in the origin of Namor. No love? N’Amor? Please…

Current Disney creatives display contempt for the characters, even their names [X-Men]. They are the folks without love.

Watching it now.   It’s ok.  Entirely too long and I’ve still got 40 minutes to go.  
Better than Eternals, Shang-Chi or Multiverse of Madness is the “best” I can say about it.

Coming out with an 'ok' verdict on your review, is a major achievement for a MCU film right now.

Following up now that I’ve finished it…it had no business being as long as it was (2hrs 43 min).  It was a 2 hour movie at best.  Namor was pretty bad.  The ankle wings were just ridiculous.  Again, I’ll say the movie was “ok”.  Nothing like the first one, which was pretty darn good.  
Will not be rewatching this one.

I agree with most here that it was an inferior movie to the first one. While I had a number of gripes with it, my biggest was with the actor playing Namor.  I can see him being good in some other type of movie, but not in this part.  And the bearded look was completely wrong.  The tributes to Boseman at the beginning and end were the best parts.

So many Boardies I respect panning the film...& Namor. 

What a friggin' drag. I wonder if I'll ever see it. I'm in don't gaf mode with the MCU. How depressing.

We just finished it...my husband's suggestion was to cut out all the black scenes where you couldn't see what was going on and make it 30 minutes less.

I was very disappointed, I loved the first movie...I couldn't even sit straight through this one, had to take a break....and this is coming from someone who even enjoyed Daredevil;) 

Sub-Mariner was dreadful...the only things I really liked was the blue skin and Shuri's earrings...while it was cool to have 2 young Brainiac female scientists, it was kind of overkill...

Watch the first and last parts (Boseman tribute scenes) and skip the rest.

I made the mistake of watching it again, just in case I was in the wrong state of mind when I watched the first time.

I was not.  The movie is objectively bad.

Did they change it because Boseman passed away? Or was it always planned out like this? 

I loved him as an actor, very sorry he was ill...but I find it hard to believe he was not going to be in it.

There was an article that noted the original -script had T'Challa and his son as the focus. But with Boseman's death (RIP), they drastically overhauled it.
