Thanks guys. (thumbs u

After getting my 25 GGA books back from CGC, I must say that I was very pleased with Metro's grading. They're usually 0.5 to 1.0 grades lower than CGC, but this time they were dead on. On the otherhand, Heritage was off by 1.0 to 1.5 points on their raw grading. Here are some examples:

All Top Comics #14 - Metro (6.5) - CGC (7.0)

Baffling Mysteries #8 - Metro (8.0) - CGC (7.5)

Fight Comics #74 - Metro (7.0) - CGC (6.5)

Planet Comics #51 - Metro (6.5) - CGC (7.0)

Planet Comics #57 - Metro (8.5) - CGC (8.5)

Planet Comics #58 - Metro (6.5) - CGC (7.0)

The Saint #4 - Metro (7.0) - CGC (6.5)

Sensation Comics #20 - Metro (7.0) - CGC (7.0)

Startling Comics #47 - Metro (7.5 with Stain Notation, 30% discount) - CGC (6.0)

- I knew CGC would knock down the grade, but the book really presented well.

Terrors of the Jungle #5 - Metro (8.5) - CGC (8.0)

Wings Comics #84 - Metro (9.4) - CGC (9.4)

Hedy De Vine #23 - Heritage (8.5) - CGC (7.0)

Hedy De Vine #25 - Heritage (7.5) - CGC (6.0)

Hedy De Vine #26 - Heritage (7.5) - CGC (6.5)

Hedy De Vine #29 - Heritage (7.5) - CGC (7.0)

Junior Miss #31 - Heritage (7.5) - CGC (7.0)

Jungle Comics #69 - Heritage (7.0) - CGC (6.0)

you know, what is the dude with the gun supposed to be doing on that cover anyways? He looks like he was about to kill her and reconsidered when he saw her breastisses lol

Pontoon summed it up nicely during the GA cover contest. ;)

"There's two things I like about Phantom Lady...

But seriously, what's not to like? Not only is she amply endowed she's pert as

heck. And ha-huge. My guess as to cup size would probably not be appropriate

here. As if the bondage and magnitude of her bosom weren't enough, the

perspective lines and overall design are designed to draw the eye immediately

to her torso. The motto of "Crime never pays" is in direct contrast to image;

looks like it pays handsomely to me! To place such a highly-charged sexual

image front and center on a late 40s comic, when social mores were far more

staid and repressed, is simply pushing boundaries to wild extremes in a way

that none of the other covers in the contest do.

Or if I were being less analytical, I'd probably just say, "Boobs! Gotta love

'em!"

From looking at Heritage auctions lately, it seems they have two graders: Mr. Loose and Mr. Tight. I skip the books graded by Mr. Loose and bid on the books graded by Mr. Tight. As an organization, Heritage's grading seems all over the place.

I like those names. Sounds like characters from a Dr. Seuss story.
