Plus some one-shots, mini/limited series, i.e., issues you really aren't sure have had a newsstand version until you see it, along with some misc. stuff    --a question and a comment:

(1) I've never seen newsstand versions of the Inhumans 1998 series except for #1, has anyone seen newsstands for any of #2-12?   (would be nice to get a newsstand copy of #5)

(2) The Mighty Avengers(2007) #1 is very rare, for whatever reason, I've only seen one so far.

 that is just  I've often found newsstands and not picked them up. They were still there when I went back, so the demand at that location is not very high. I say that because, I've in turn bought "bigger" books, to leave the newssies as a rainy day pick up. 

But I've been dismissive and lazy it would seem, those pics of "lots of newssies" are definitely attractive!

Some new additions as of yesterday. Not particularly valuable but I usually find these one at a time, not six at once.

Had a similar experience yesterday at a Half Price Books location that I rarely visit because it's way on the other side of town from me...I don't think I've ever found this many modern newsies in one stop before! What actually upsets me a little bit is the fact that the price stickers are all dated "8/21", which makes me think that if I had made the trek a few months ago I would have found a lot more. I guess I'm just the type of person who can't ever be happy with what he has.

That is a good score indeed. The best I ever made, for quantity not value, happened in a shopping mall in New York. They had a "comic book convention" in the aisle that ran through the middle of the mall. By the standards of the New York Comic Con, SDCC, Chicago Con, Bay Con, and others, this was not a true convention. It was more like the village markets I am used to from living in the Netherlands for 12 years. 

They had maybe 25 vendors with comics. One guy had maybe 20 long boxes with him, stuffed full of comics he had bought as a lot. There were quite a lot of newsstands, most of which were duplicates. All of them were cover dated during the same three month period, something like May to July of 2013. The newsstands were about 1% of the total group, but I still managed to pull out 167 of them. There were more but I knew I didn't have enough money on me to get them all, so I left some behind. As it is, I felt a little guilty saying to the vendor, who was charging a dollar apiece for the comics, "I only have a hundred dollars on me. I can pay with a card, or I can only give you the hundred. Would that work for you?" He didn't have a card reader, so he gave me the entire group for $100. Many of the comics are 9.8 contenders, none were less than around 9.2, and none had ever been opened from the looks of them.

Your group includes two of the comics I picked up in that lot, Uncanny X-Men #4 and #5, except I got 3x and 5x copies of each, respectively.

That's like saying "Money in banks proves there is no poverty" or "Athletes at the Olympics prove that everyone can run a three minute mile". This group focuses on newsstands by people who are focused on newsstands. Just because I have over 2,000 newsstands, most of which are modern, does not mean they are easy to find. For me, an "easy to find" newsstand is an issue that appears at a frequency of about 1 newsstand for every 20 direct listings. "Hard to find" is 50:1, and then we get to the issues I see once a year or never. The 6x X-Force copies here are part of the 167 comic haul I mentioned earlier. It looks like a lot, but I had to slog through 20 long boxes to find the 167 comics I bought, an effort that took several hours to execute. That was the highest concentration of newsstands I'd ever seen, about 15:1 or so.

It is exactly the same. Banks concentrate currency within them by draining it from other locations into their control. Professional athletic events concentrate athletic skill by drawing it towards them, thus simultaneously increasing the number of highly skilled and gifted athletes at those events while removing that same athletic skill from everywhere else. This thread attracts the interest of those who have an interest in newsstands and who likely have more newsstands than collectors who are unaware of their rarity. By bringing those people here, the concentration of newsstands in their possession is more evident than outside the group at the same time as those same newsstands are unavailable elsewhere. 

This is always the case when you have a finite supply and a strong localized demand. If you are within the orbit of that demand, the supply appears to be plentiful. Outside the demand zone, you will find a comparatively sparse supply. 

At the moment, we know the supply is not plentiful because the people in this group have been unable to find all of the newsstands they are looking for, while easily finding direct editions of the same comics. If demand increases beyond the collectors who currently have an interest in newsstands, the supply will become more sparse than it is now.

Your laughing emoticon may be the only entity that found your rhyming mockery amusing. When you are compelled by a vacuum of similar sentiments to provide a laugh track, you are better off thinking up a better joke.
