batman_fan
Well, I finally got a little time to take a few pics of some of my junk. Please note one key thing, the two copies of Batman 54 are different, the 6.5 is the Canadian version and the 8.5 is the US version. Note that teh Canadian version only has two billboards on the wall!

Dark Knight
#140......a fairly scarce book. This copy: Fine +++ unrestored with off-white pages. The 1st Riddler! Darnit, you outbidded me on this book Hope you enjoy the book as I thought it was a nice pickup. hello all... I must have missed that one , was it recently auctioned? rick Yep, like last week I believe... I thought I had it too.. Just $50 short ...actually Dark Knight, you could add a "zero" onto the end of that $50, and you would still be saying to me "Darnit, you outbid on this book ".( and Rick would have still missed it ) The nice looking, mid and high grade unrestored Tec 140's with nice PQ just don't come around that often....so I had to seize the moment. A few years ago Heritage sold a CGC NM 9.4 for around $20k . The seller took terrible pics, and the book looks 100 times nicer in person than it did in his auction ( which I'm sure you noticed from looking at my pic vs. the auction pic )..it was a gamble, and this time it paid off. I have also had auction images capture the best part of a books looks, and been very disapointed when I unwrapped the packaging of my new raw "VF" that was more like a "VG" once I saw it close up...warts and all. I am confident another one will pop up somewhere, and you will have another shot.....good luck to you Steve Thanks Steve for the luck. I definitely need some luck winning in the last few seconds. I've been outbidded at the last moment. Probably due in part to my semi-slow internet connection at home. Great pick up on the book. It may have been a gamble, but well worth it. I was just concerned about any restoration done and the slight rust on the staple. My bidding range was about there too. Besides, I wasn't too upset on losing because I have books that are at the top of my list that I'm saving up right now. But if I won it, I'd def. be happy. I can wait until one shows up again. batman_fan
Cool, I didn't realize that there were Canadian editions of DC's series like Batman. There are actually several Batmans and Detectives from Canada (Batman 59 has been around a few times). I believe there was a Batman 2 as well. I started picking them up just becasue they are different. I never looked at the two side by side until these pictures and that was when I saw the difference. Silver Surfer
DAMMIT- who snatched the 37 from metro- I was about to move on it!!! That's hilarious. I saw that book last night and thought to myself "decent price" and almost made an impulse buy. Seems to happen every other day lately.
