Kav, those where on auctions, you dont think those are too much of unpredictable variables verse majority asking price?

This came up a while back and it was no effort to find non sig books selling for more than sigs for any book worth anything-repeatedly.  any book, any grade.  I'm not just whistling dixie.

If your telling me that yellow labels on CL and heritage are cheaper than Ebay....  I AM SO THERE MAN!

Any of the auction sites should be regularly checked. BUt the best deals are not going to be books like ASM 301

Kav is correct, it also takes a lot more time and effort to sell an ss'd copy and especially at a good price. When starting to go down a signature route, you have to be prepared to stick it out.... and stay passionate unto the better end. Hopefully it doesn't curb anyone's collecting attitude along the way lol

I wouldn't say right or wrong, but like with anything, its work!

I would love to see @valiantman's census on most SS of a book, with the book info you might be able to guess someone's participation with the book and signature frequency...

Probably the most would be McFarlane spawn and an easy tell, still

As far as Stan goes, I tried to look up the ones I had in the census upon his passing, and there were at most 3-400 SS'd period no matter who did them with the following issues....thay have thousands of blue labels

FF 49

ASM 129 & 50

X-Men 12 & 13

Thor 168

IH 180 &181

The type of sig also plays a roll you know.  A hulk 181 with trimpe wein and lee is worth alot more than one with just romita...   3 are dead... the other one still alive.

None of those details are in the CGC Census.  I was asked what the highest number of signature slabs were, and I provided the answer from the CGC Census.

The only “fact” is that “it depends”, as has already been pointed out. Singling out a few books that prove one point while ignoring the sea of others that refute it ain’t changing that fact, baby!

when all things are equal, like method of purchase, type of sig etc, the sig will get a premium.   Cant you say that slabbed books get more of a premium than raw???  Want to dispute that one???

It would appear there are not a lot of silver age on that list, and thank you @valiantman

Perhaps @kav the SA current set of collectors feel like you that it may not be wise for signature series, but that could always easily change. Given the current rate between high low sales, it doesn't seem that bad to current collectors, but in the future is anyone's guess  :x
