OtherEric
Given the quick response on the Tom & Jerry’s , I’m wondering if anyone has a very low grade Black Hole #4 they want to find a good home for. It’s the last of the rare ones that actually goes to a title I collect, rather than me grabbing the issue when I see them. I do collect the earlier Uncle Scrooge issues, but once Barks leaves I’m not trying for all of them. Buck Rogers, Looney Tunes, and Super Goof I’m good on. Even if the Super Goof #61 cost 9000 times more than the #1. (Not kidding on the difference!) bellrules and stormflora 1

Popular Post Warlord
Here's another gift box from 1977, this time it contains 10 Marvel issues. Sadly, again, this set is missing two of the 10 issues, however this time I've already identified the two that are missing. This gift box includes: Captain America #212 and #213 (Aug and Sep 1977) Amazing Spider-Man #171 and #172 (Aug and Sep 1977) Thor #262 and #263 (Aug and Sep 1977) Fantastic Four #185 (Aug 1977) Avengers #163 (Sep 1977) And the two issues that should also have been in this box are Conan #77 and Hulk #214 (both Aug 1977), so I snagged sample images of them to include here too. Sadly this box is missing an issue, but I'm pretty sure I've got another one of this same Gift Pack box so if it's not sealed I'll be able to figure out the missing issue. Unless anyone already has a list of which 10 issues are in this box? Here are the nine issues found in this box: Walt Disney's Comics & Stories #442 - July 1977 Daisy & Donald #24 - July 1977 Huey, Dewey, and Louie #45 - August 1977 Winnie the Pooh #3 - September 1977 Mickey Mouse #173 - July 1977 Scamp #36 - July 1977 Donald Duck #185 - July 1977 Super Goof #43 - September 1977 Chip & Dale #47 - July 1977 I checked my collection for the other gift box and was able to identify the 10th comic for this list. The missing comic from this box is Uncle Scrooge #142 from July 1977. Now we have the list of the full set of 10 issues. I'll edit the previous post to add this info! Popular Post bellrules
Bought a box of beaters this week, and was surprised to have uncovered this one. I’ve only come across 3 copies of Pink Panther 78 with the 40 cent price tag. While this one is pretty beat, it’s still complete. Jesse-Lee
I bought a comic lot this week that had a number of Disney and other Whitman books - is there a list somewhere that details the more sought-after issues? Edit to add: I paid $50 for the 200 book lot, basically sight-unseen (a FB Marketplace buy). I already pulled 7-8 nice books out of it, and the rest will be stuff for my $1 bins at shows. But I have a bit of a blind spot when it comes to Whitmans, especially of the non-Batman variety. Here's what was in the lot, they're all fairly beat up, but all are intact: Edited February 25 by Jesse-Lee comic_memories, Morganmi and bellrules

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look to me like there are any hidden gems here… some of these are a little harder to find, but I would say the issues here are only really worth anything in very high grade (say, 9.0 and up). Even then, I’m not sure there’s anything here that would go for more than $5 or $10. The key things to watch for are the 40 cent issues dated August through December of 1980, 40 cent variants from January of 1981 and 75 cent Canadian price variants.
