Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???

I don't even bother looking at these Heritage auctions results since I've never owned one of these books and I doubt I ever will.  I'm sure there are people here who swim in that very small pool but it might as well be Greek to me since I don't speak that language.

I think the recent Zillow estimate for my house is about $300K.  So my house in Ohio is a smidge more than that Batman 1 CGC 4.0.  I don't begrudge those that have the means to buy these stellar keys but I just don't operate in that end of the market so it's all beyond me.

Here is a little sampler recap from the Heritage Signature auction June 2024.     I probably should have compared to 2023 results vs 2022 but was too far along before I thought about it.    Also apologize that there is limited GA in here - much of it can have so few sales as the recaps are really useless.     Not great results in general....a few bright spots.      Some of the peak prices were just plain silly.

That kinda confirms things.

We can close the thread now.

In the middle of nowhere? No thanks.

I need to be able to get to stores, bars and eateries without traveling for an entire day.

Wyoming has fairly low humidity.  And the remoteness makes it too much trouble for thieves to discover it.  Perfect place to purchase for storage of your Batman #1!

There is a big market for lefty golf clubs. Made some coin selling to doctors and lawyers. About 15 years ago on eBay. That`s when I was a college student struggling. I don`t know how the market is for lefty golf players now, but the doctor said you have a niche here. I was more concerned about graduating from college so I didn`t focus on it. I am still sure selling to lefty golfers is a good niche. (thumbsu

He doesn't play enough to justify buying a set. He can actually hit righty if he needs to. The courses usually have some lefty clubs and he makes due with whatever they're willing to lend him. Honestly, all you need is a low iron for your distance shots, a 7 - 9 iron, and a putter. Frankly, you could probably get by with a 2-3 iron and the putter and I have a putter that is good for either hand. Yes, getting out of a sand trap with a 2-3 iron is a challenge, but whatever, and just take a 1/3 swing on those 140 yard holes. The irony is that I already had 3 righty sets, two of which I mainly fished out of the garbage, but none of them were particularly good clubs. I'm hoping a $1500 set makes me marginally less terrible.

I have a pal who actually makes good money selling vintage clubs on eBay. GOD BLESS ....

The S&P 500 is up 42% since 1/1/23. Kinda wrecks the incentive to "invest" in those sorts of funny books. I understand these sorts of comics may benefit from a flush market if rich guys feel rich, but 42% in 18 months is pretty nice.

Thank you Nvidia stock lol

I've seen some errors on GoCollect pricing in the past, so hopefully they're ironing those out in the midst of putting out their version of indexes :

In bear comics market they will be lucky to survive. Perhaps if they ditch Tuck et al's cheapjack cheesy Hype Columns, improve their interface and focus on nothing but competing with GPA they will have a shot...?

My 2.5 sold for $270k 2 years ago. This 4.0 sold for $288k this week. Call me old fashioned , but I consider this a drop.

the same is demonstrably true of the Tec 27 and the Cap 1

Yes, lots of crazy sales in 2022. Doesn't change the fact that a.4.0 broke a record this week, who's previous record was also during the madness of 2022. It's ok to think you're old-fashioned, but this was not a drop.

Here are Session 1A and 1B results from the June ComicLink Focused Auction.   As with last auction - also included a % change look between last, 90, and 12.    I will not be doing this recap for the July auction if anyone cares.

So much red. Also anecdotally the 3rd session that begun tonight on CL for late bronze/copper/modern I was seeing a lot of yearly lows on books. They just have so many of these slabs, multiple copies of all of these minor keys even within same grade. A lot of these sell for more everyday on eBay, the buyers just aren’t there on CL for this kind of volume anymore, particularly for the more modern stuff.
