It's a shame, there were a couple Spiders in there I really wanted, but I refuse to buy ANYTHING raw from Metropolis. I got the 3rd issue, moldy and ripped to shreds. They can't disappoint me with that one lol. Joshua33

I'm reading the description and the seller has a line about it not being trimmed because the bottom of the book is even from front to spine to back, thus it's short from manufacturing. I'm not that familiar with these kinds of defects, but that sounds like an odd way to claim something isn't trimmed.

The bottom wasn't, but that shifted the whole cover up and the top was trimmed very poorly. waaaghboss

That guys a good seller, too!!! I bought a couple books from him without issue. I'm sorry to hear that. I'll have to go look back at the pics of that one... Just looked that's right, I remember the 15 cent being cut off on the top, and laid off it. Didn't know you bought it. At least you got your Money back. Joshua33
If that Gay Parisienne or the Bedtime Stories today were in vf or better, there woulda been no stopping me. Condition wasnt there, but both beautiful books. Edited February 20, 2022 by Joshua33 Spell waaaghboss

Please just do a paperback price guide It's the last refuge of the true collector and one that actually concentrated on identifying classic cover artists correctly has never been done. Funny that you mention that. I have been working on a paperback guide for years... but with much less diligence that the pulp guide (or my own in-house comics guide). But no one would publish it. In it's unfinished form, it's already 1500 pages long (most titles are already in place, but the details are not filled in). Unlike previous guides, this one is arranged alphabetically by author (cross-referenced with pseudonyms). Each entry contains date, edition, cover price, original date of hardback publication (unless an original), publisher and number, artist (when known), brief cover art description, and valuation. But I'm not getting younger, and as long as I'm still running a shop full-time, I'm not sure I will ever have the time to complete it. If I reach the point where I know I absolutely won't finish it, I may pass the data onto someone else. We'll see. asimovpulps, GACollectibles, waaaghboss and 4 others 4
