This is not directed a the OP but historically, those that say publicly they are done with this place usually come back in a day or two weeks. Someone that is truly done, just disappears without a word.

First time I've seen an FDQ on another forum, regarding this forum, and then do a complete 360.

Perhaps "brutal" was an overstatement. But I don't feel like people saying they wanted to laugh, that it would take bribery to get a 9.0, to suggest that comparing his book to some from an online dealer was an insult to them (when in fact the responder had misunderstood his comparison), things like that are unduly harsh to a new member. Yes, overall there were as you said, but even some of those I thought could have phrased things in a more "newbie friendly" manner.

It was more the manner of the statements that rubbed me the wrong way.
