There will be an attempt to make this thread about comic books, in order to stay relevant to the CGC Forum guidelines, but I truly feel obligated to write this. I write this, because rather than shutting it down and closing up shop, I really do like it here, and out of frustration of the culture that seems to be developing, I want to also hear from other board members to know if I am the only one really experiencing this toxicity. But I do believe that the CGC Forum, for all its wonder, wealth of knowledge, and niche (yes, comic books are definitely niche) interests, has become a place where passive aggressive, angry, and sometimes flat out aggressive attitude, dominates the subject lines. I am guilty of it too. It's difficult to not get roped up in a heated conversation when you feel like you are being attacked, finding new ways to one up my 'opponent'. I like to assume this is because we are all very passionate individuals, with strong opinions on what we enjoy and love! I like to assume that this is because we all want to believe that we are doing it right. After all, when we are spending our money, our hard earned, scraped together pennies, in a very difficult world, I do not want to think I am just simply, throwing it away on a whim. I understand that we all have very different opinions, whether it's that GA and SA books are the one true comic, or that blue labels are superior to the yellow label SS series. How this artist is inferior to that writer, and this era of comics suck, so why are you buying these books. My last point is, I get it, I do, but I am just hoping that some people read this, and I'm writing this out to myself as well, where I can correct some of my behaviours that I've developed, and rebuild a foundation to what I think to be is one of the greatest niche hobbies, filled with clever and insightful individuals that anyone could ask for. bentbryan, troydivision1, Cat and 23 others 26 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Like many things in life, you've got to dig through the dung to find a nugget of gold here or there and the CGC boards are no different. There's a nugget or three or four of gold around here but it's mostly dung and I can certainly understand getting tired of wading through the fecal sludge here to find that nugget or two of wisdom.
