They are mostly comics with like 1 page of text. They show how to change Fram filters on different cars/offer different services to customers to make more money.

Thanks.

I just sent a request to GCD to add a skeleton for the series.

OK for me to upload your scans? Do you have scans of the other 4 issues?

Those are the only 2 I have from the series.

Is this accurate?

Bookname; Publisher; Imprint/Pubnotes; SeriesBegan; SeriesEnded; FirstIssue; LastIssue; Tracking; Format; CountryCode; LanguageCode; Notes; Indexer

Hoods Up; Fram Corp.; NA; 1953; 1953 (pure guesswork); 1; 6; NA; 16 page, newsprint cover; US; END; Eisner artwork, giveaway for service station owners; NA

The GCD editor found #1, so he has a starting cover date. GCD

still needs a cover date from #6 and the dimensions, as it

looks like it is smaller than standard size. Would you mind measuring one of your copies?

I'll post your scans (photos?) to get the series started -- sometimes that draws the attention of people with other issues -- but they'll probably be marked for eventually replacement because they're fuzzy.

Quite an interesting and scarce series.

Thanks,

Jack

Wow--those Eisner books are great. I never new they existed before, much less had I ever seen them

I'm a fan of giveaway books myself, at least inpart because they tend to show up fairly frequently in my junking quests.

Here are a couple books that are among my favorites from my collection that I don't think anyone has previously posted here. Overstreet doesn't list either of these, but i don't know if they are particularly rare or anything. Neither has a copyright date, so I couldn't even tell you how old they are. The second book includes a text page with facts about space that includes the line, "When man first breaks loose from the Earth's gravity, he will try his wings on a trip to the moon." So I guess it is at least early 60s, maybe older.

I've always wondered if the first pre-dates Santa Claus Canquers The Martians.

These should look familiar. I tried to just post ones that have not shown up yet.

In the next week, I am getting some nice Wheaties giveaways back and a couple other promos I can post.

Here are a couple I purchased because of my time spent working in newspapers.

On the Capt. Marvel, it is interesting that they managed to cram a Bulletman story into a very small book. A handful of these types of books in very high grade seem to be popping up from time to time recently.

I feel like I may be the only one of us left in here.

These are the Wheaties books I said I would post.

The Funny Stuff is tied for the top grade. None of the Wheaties books in this series have graded higher than 8.0. Overstreet says none grade higher than fine, but there are a handful that do.

This early Buster Brown comic has a light paper cover due to paper shortage.

Interior art looks like Meskin with maybe Robinson inks and Kiefer did the second story (oops that one was also signed by Kiefer).

I don't know who did the western but it looks like someone that worked for Centaur (was his name Winston?).
