That book actually had pretty decent distribution. My LCS had some of these right when they were released. It was hot for about 40 seconds.

I read this entire thread when I found it the other day, and it inspired me to look through the independent box and I found a ton of stuff I didn't see posted. Some of the links to photos are dead, so I'm sorry if I post a repeat.

Life Brigade looks like it was drawn by an 8 year old.

 

The non-cartoony art on some of the others isn't so bad (Hero Alliance #1 probably took a long time to draw to get the perspective of the reflection right). Yeah, there sure were a lot of #1s o series that went maybe 2 or 3 issues in the 80's. maybe even more than the 90's.
