Self-policing. No sales between now and 4 PM EDT tomorrow. thumbsup2.gif

Just curious, but why is that? What does that accomplish? Am I missing something? Splain me Luthy . . .

Cause all the dealers are at the afterparty. Dont tell me they didn't invite you?

Seriously?.. I think closing the doors lends itself to being more of a Con atmospere. Otherwise it would just be like every other thread in Marketplace. But I can see how those on the west coast feel shortchanged, or international members for that matter.

It was fun to browse all the tables and try to decide where my money was going. And now we all take a break and see what is left tomorrow. I still wonder what the actual numbers were though, regarding how many people attended.

Dan , did you ever consider making an entry poll to track the numbers of potential buyers who actually walked the VC halls?

Ze-

Just a few oservations from a buyers point of view........ 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

1) I feel it's to the sellers advantage to post scans and prices as early as possible (before the con starts): that way we buyers can scope out what's available and decide where our dollars will go (preview night for us) . thumbsup2.gif

2) Why have a closing time? confused-smiley-013.gif

The convention should have an opening time & I understand that thumbsup2.gif......but why a closing time?!? Why not just keep the listings up until it makes sense to take them down? Gives the sellers extra time to sell their goods after a lot of hard work putting it all together.

Other than that, the VCC has been nothing short of a great time! 893applaud-thumb.gif

Dan/Shin,

Might be a ridiculous idea, but...

Would it be workable/sensible to cut and paste your 'booth' to the end of the thread as a new post, thus allowing editing facilities right through to close?

Not thought this through totally, so there may well be issue with doing so, but... confused-smiley-013.gif

All the dealers are at the Hyatt having bourbon and gingers, talking about how stupid the buyers are.

Actually, we want to make this a con atmosphere, and by having starting and closing times, that helps. The next one, maybe we'll start it during the day.

Can we PM someone to get lousy overpriced pizza delivered to our desktops also?

I can't figure out what I've won or not won! Some sellers are replying and updating their listings, but others either are not getting my offers or are not responding. (Maybe the problem is that I'm using words instead of the little takeit.gif smileyface?)

Jack

Maybe we're having PM trouble? I didn't see any last night, but had a half dozen this morning when I logged on.

Good idea...but it could cause problems if not implemented correctly. The old store would have to be totally shut down..nada, nothing ...other than, maybe, a pointer that the thread has been moved.

Also, it could potentially hurt those dealers who don't move their stores...but then again, if they want to be able to update then they'd have to move. Of course, it's possible their stuff just isn't selling...and in that case it wouldn't matter where the store was anyway... insane.gif

So everyone knows, there are people outside of the boards looking at our convention. I have had a few inquiries from the outside and have officially passed Greggy on the sale total yay.gifpoke2.gif27_laughing.gif

For the next one, which will be, most likely, in June, I'm going to start the "Convention Hall" thread at 11 PM EDT on Friday, which will allow editing all the way through to the end. I was under the mistaken impression that the 48 hour lock was from the last edit, not the original post, or I would have done it that way this time. Oh well, live and learn.

Alright... finally awakened from my post-non-Virtual-Comicon stupor...

Back still aches from lifting 3700lbs of product four times each yesterday (that's eleventy billion kilograms for you non-Americans).

Looks like I have a couple hours to get some stuff together... Oh what will it be... 893scratchchin-thumb.gif Maybe this is the right time to dump my thirteen long boxes of miscellaneous Eros and Avatar porn... Or a long box of 30c variants... or I could wimp out and just sell a bunch of cheap trades... Man, do I even own anything worth selling... foreheadslap.gif
