CGC is really pushing the envelope

20 business days, 100 business days, 110 business days. April 10 I submitted 11 books expecting to have them back 4-5 weeks later, which was the average turnaround advertised by CGC. Then I found out that the 'current turnaround' was 100 days. And today I see that it's now 110 business days. Another 5 weeks. At least, because I am certain that between noe and then that turnaround number will go up again. What bugs me here is that if CGC who have obviously more work then they can handle, kee

Gambling with my membership bonus Right. I used my coupon for 3 Express gradings for a kind of gamble. It took a bit longer than the advertised lead times, but I was not in a hurry. Will there be an X-mas present for me???

40 business days is less clear then one might think Invoice date 27th October. From there it will take 40 business days to get my first 15 books (of about 400) graded. First conundrum: do I start counting on the 27th or the 28th? Second conundrum is the day between this year's Thanksgiving and Saturday a business day or not? (I'm not an American, so to me such things are less obvious). Tomorrow CGC will be closed for X-mas. So today I get my X-mas present. Or Not. It's now 11 AM in Florida an

First step into a new world

Fighting an uphill battle against procedures and protocols. Right. So I have this attic and in that attic is my comics collection. Has been there since 1981 when we moved to this place. And I have reached the point that asks 'what to do with this stuff?'. My kids never had any interest. They still have not. So I decide to say goodbye to my 'collection'. First step is eBay. Here I learn about other sites and very quickly it becomes clear that part of what I have is worth more than I expected (a
