You've probably seen it. I've posted it on here several times over the years.

I have an extensive archive of every copy of Superman #1 (and other big books) that I can find. But I don’t always label them by owner, nor do I always know who owns them. So it’s very possible that I’ve seen it but forgotten who it came from.

Got another interesting showdown in the next CC auction.  A Bat 2.0 (slightly brittle) and a Cap 2.5 (tan to offwhite).  Don’t know how significant the difference is between slightly brittle and tan, but page quality ain’t their strengths.  The Cap 1 especially seems to have good eye appeal.

My gut is, this Cap #1 should top the Batman #1 due to eye appeal, condition of the spine and superior PQ.

Batman #1 has pulled away from Cap #1, but this is more than just a .5 difference. Both great books for sure.

I've been trying to figure out the best place to share these!  This thread seems like the right spot.  Some boardies may have already heard that Danielle & I picked up a golden age collection last month.  Here are some of the early Superman/Actions.  Many of these are Original owner, the rest were purchased second hand between 1938-1968.  I'll be starting a thread in general at some point to tell the story but wanted to share some pics :)

Right. it just seems that there’s a lot more buzz and events around this years 80th. I’ll be curious to see the sales numbers compared to Action 1000 last year

I didn’t follow what DC did for Superman very closely last year but if hype is bigger this time around, I suppose it makes sense. Batman is the more popular of the two characters.

Using this scale ( which I think is a little lite on a few but overall very solid all the way around as the lower grade books seem very hard to nail down) what do you think the FMV on the same books CGC complete, coverless NG blue label would be??? Coverless has now become a real option for many trying to obtain these 10 ( who would have thought huh)

This is a really rough estimate without looking at GPA. Wide range due to the unpredictability of live auctions and the desirability for sharp, complete interiors with high PQ.
