That's a realistic number.
I could see higher if the auction was closing when bidders are awake.

I knew this copy was going to kick azz when I saw that 2.5 Marvel 1 sell for what it did in the C Link auction.
I feel like I should send @gregreecean edible arrangement of something for going above and beyond the call of duty when he sold my 5.0 three years ago. Can't believe it's been that long already.
@Mmehdy you definitely seem to be a bona fide Cap 1-whisperer.

How much did the 2.5 Marvel #1 sell for?

This bad boy is going to be closing in just under an hour and a half (11:50 PM EST).
How is it that one of the biggest books in the auction is set to close at such a rough hour for bidding?
If someone wins this for under 200K, they are going to have one heckuva steal on their hands.

One of the greatest books of all-time.

They are attached. They won't slide around when you open the inner well and they don't, at least in my experience, grab the comic if you slide it out through the top.
So does that mean that wherever there is an insert, you can’t cut along that edge, be it along the spine, the bottom of the book or both?
Because some GA books are heat sealed so close to the actual paper, that using a knife or pair of scissors looks to be risky.
If you can’t cut along sides supported by inserts, that forces you to cut on the top and on the right side of the inner well, regardless of how close it is to the actual paper, no?

Thanks for the feedback Richard.
With pre-2017 slabs, once you get the inner well out of the outer shell, are the inserts (sometimes at the bottom, sometimes along the spine) physically attached to the inner well?

Hey guys,
Looking at a number of GA slabs, the inner well is often sealed very close to the book itself.
Does anyone have experience cracking GA slabs and if so, do you have any tips for how to do so safely?
For GA slabs with inserts on the left side and bottom, is the process any different: more or less room to cut around where the well is sealed?
I've seen videos on YouTube but not for GA books and not for books with left side and bottom inserts.

this 3.0 with terrible registration sold for $77k last NOV 2016
I'd rather have the 2.5 which I could see cracking 100K.

SPOILER ALERT: If you have not yet seen the film, and don't want plot point revealed, stop reading here.
Although not specifically Golden Age related, 2017's Justice League featured 4 different superheroes who trace their roots to the Golden Age: Superman (Action Comics #1), Batman (Detective Comics #27), Wonder Woman (All-Star Comics #8) and Aquaman (More Fun Comics #73).
As you might have heard, the film hasn't been the gargantuan success many hoped for. Critically, it sits at 40% on Rotten Tomatoes, although unsurprisingly, the audience is at 85%.
I enjoyed the film. It wasn't perfect and like most films, it's not difficult to pick some things apart. This is particularly easy when it comes to comic book films. In short, my take is that the DCU has been the recepient of mixed reviews since 2013's Man of Steel, and word of mouth has a strong impact on both the critical and commercial success of these films. The DCU has never been able to shake that stigma.
That's not to say these films are without issues. There are plenty. But unlike the rival MCU, which has received more praise, DCU's flaws are magnified. Having seen all of the recent MCU films, it's obvious that Marvel's flaws are masked behind good humor, something DC (Flash aside) has not dabbled in too strongly.
As a fan, it was very satisfying to these characters come together in their universe. I've enjoyed both the MCU and DCU and feel they both reflect their sources.
Marvel has a much deeper roster, they're funnier and they're master marketers.
The Top-5 characters of DC could rival the Top-5 characters of Marvel, but after that, DC's shallow pool becomes obvious. DC is better at telling serious stories, but they also lack the comedic charm Marvel portrays effortlessly. In a genre that just begs for plot holes and issues, comedy masks lackluster story telling.
Watch Justice Legue and decide for yourself. I'd love to hear fellow collector's opinions.
