  1. There are plenty of copies sitting in LCS back stock as well. As I have posted in other discussions, I have seen close to a long box accumulated from a 10,000 book buy of one LCS chain's overstock (the buyer was the owner of another LCS and the NM 98s, Omega Men 3s, Wolverine (late 80s regular) 1s and 10s saved him as the overstock was mostly junk ). In addition, a small LCS owner pulled out a case of NM 98s a couple of years or three ago and has been slowly leaking them out (last copy went this spring). As the small LCS owner explained to me, back then it cost 50 cents or less per copy so most of the stores in town were speculating with an extra case or more since a lot of hot Marvels were easy $2-$5 sales immediately. The only issue is that there are plenty of misses along with the hits, and storing them long term can be an issue (cost vs. ROI issue). My guess is that there are plenty of other stores with stacks of uncirculated copies sitting in storage that have not seen the light of day yet.
  2. Sure wish CGC would notate that on their slabs. ? They probably will now.
  3. In any case, I am glad it is back on track and look forward to reading it via TPB going forward. (thumbs u
  4. It was likely all a negotiating stance. Don't him off until you straighten out who owns what in order to move forward.......
  5. No idea. Since it only went 5 issues is this considered a mini? The book has never been worth more than $3. How were you going to resell it already? We were moving them for $8 and then $10 at shows this spring, and there were other dealers from down East buying them at that price and selling them for $15.
  6. I will take some NM Batman #227s as fire starter for my fireplace as well! (thumbs u
  7. Sounds right to me that Bats knows who she is and has been messing around with her for a while now. That would have been awesome. (thumbs u
  8. The thing is, which key books on eBay are not shilled now? I can only say for certain that I do not shill my auctions (and I still get above GPA prices on books anyway ) , but looking at the action on a lot of other keys there is shill bidding all over the place whether it is a Silver, Bronze or Copper/Modern key.
  9. The only problem right now with all of the good to great sci-fi/fantasy/comic based shows on is this: not enough time to follow them all.
  10. I just landed a small stack of Legends issues in an auction lot buy so my Amanda Waller's 1st app. in #1 takes off.
  11. I agree. Gain some weight and put on some muscle. You're supposed to be Wonder Woman, dammit. She looks fine to me. (thumbs u I definitely do not want my Wonder Woman to resemble Brienne of Tarth physically.........
  12. Thanks. It looks like it was nailed for the light dust shadow/tanning along the edge.
  13. It is kind of funny looking at how much prices have jumped for the DC SA keys over the past 5 years. This 5.0 copy of B&B #28 set me back a whopping $956 with the BP on March 7, 2010. http://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/the-brave-and-the-bold-28-justice-league-of-america-dc-1960-cgc-vg-fn-50-off-white-pages/a/110031-11097.s I wish I still had it now.......
  14. I thought it was more of the "Did you know I met my last wife on the set of a superhero movie?" look........
  15. I am curious to see how the movies impact values going forward. It would be nice to see all sub 6.0 grades hit the $2K per point range.
  16. Thanks. I passed on it at the Calgary Expo this spring but Andy was gracious enough to let me pick it up afterwards.
  17. Here is a slight upgrade on my current 4.5 thanks to thirdgreenham (thumbs u
  18. This just arrived today thanks to Andy/thirdgreenham:
  19. Like dropping a cinder-block from a roof? Twice? Never! I don't understand the speculation thing with major keys, modern dek yes. Just get the book because it's awesome,or maybe because you love it. I like the book, but if you are in it for the flip now is the time to pick it up before it takes off in value just like back then. Speculating on major keys is actually the easiest way to do it. It is nothing for a bigger key to go up a few hundred or a couple of grand with a movie announcement. How many moderns do you need to sell to generate that kind of profit? This is why I try to by bigger keys in multiples - one for me and a couple of extra copies to flip down the road. Well I guess you see it as commodity,as I see it as a grail that I just had to have being an ultimate GL fan. I guess there's nothing wrong with your point of view,I just see it as something other than the flip. I understand where you are coming from. I do not see it as just a commodity - if I did I would collect Marvel SA keys. That being said, I try to buy at least 2 copies of SA DC keys at a time in order to capture the upside. That way I can sell one copy later at a higher price and pick up another book I want.

  21. When I get my latest copy of TOS 58 back from CGC I am going to put it on eBay with a "Civil War Prelude" caption on the listing.
  22. Exactly. Now is the time to speculate on SC #22 again just like 2009/2010 was once the movie was confirmed. (thumbs u
  23. Let SC #30 and #34 run up high now that I have a couple of copies.
  24. There is only a few 8.0 with off-white and all 8.5's with cream/white. Showcase 22 in cream/off white is the norm. You high standards will cut you out in 8.0's copies. You tracked them? I wish they had a way to sort PQ on the census. I was waiting for an 8.5 ow or better. Now I know why I never have seen one. Yup, been tracking em' for years and I have seen many copies raw and from scans here and there. Interesting. Have you seen evidence that PQ impacts prices on this book?
