  1. The 3.5 is lower than I thought it would be at this point based on the last sale. It will be interesting to see where it ends up. The 4.5 is fairly high already - next bid puts it at $4500 with the BP. I hope it hits close to $6K.
  2. Is the Deadpool vs. Thanos #1 going to be a Thanos or Deadpool action figure variant?
  3. That sucks. Looks like it could be a consignment item on Comic Connect then. My are crossed that the Canadian newsstand price variant copy of GL #201 that I just sent in hits 9.8.
  4. Is the Book of Death: Legends of the Geomancer a retailer incentive? I snagged one copy from a LCS but my file LCS did not get any.
  5. There should be an FF Annual #1 or #2 with the blank covers as well. I can't remember which one, but I had one in the past.
  6. Just buy the #1s and/or keys and read the rest online or via 50% off or less trades. (thumbs u
  7. I am surprised at how well Low is holding up for Image. I thought it was sh i te personally (but completed the first story arc to sell as a set ), but it is above 20K in monthly sales. It is interesting to see how badly Marvel's non-Star Wars or super hero titles are faring. Take away the #1 effect and the sales are quite weak afterwards.
  8. I sold my 6.0 copy for above GPA in late 2013 at a local show with no resistance, but it looks now like that was too low.
  9. Comes back as the Red Hood. Hence, the Hush reference +1 This is what I was going with. Jason was dead for 20 years or so until that arc......
  10. Looking at the Supergirl announcement, will Justice League (1987) #1 see some heat due to the 1st appearance of Maxwell Lord?
  11. I doubt it personally because it's already high priced due to Croc. Doesn't seem too high priced to me and Croc definitely seems a lesser character than Jason (to me anyhow). Batman 356 goes for about $6-8 in NM, 358 about $20-30 (again, because of Croc), 357 you are lucky to get under $50 for a decent grade raw. "high price" is all relative to each person, but that specific issue is a lot more valuable than the other issues around it. Off the top of my head I can't think of any issues that have two major first appearances in it to compare on price inflation. I think it will have further legs once Jason Todd is shown in the DCU movie universe. I really hope they tie him in via the Death in the Family and Hush story arcs as well since I may have a few sets kicking around and would like to see a DKR type spike in their prices.
  12. If there was any kind of physics based logic, flash should be able to own batman -- and even moreso -- batman would be close to the bottom of the hero chain. Actually, if there was any kind of physics based logic in the DCU then Batman would be at the top of the heap as noone else would have super strength, flight, super speed, etc. Bruce/Bats would rule them all due to his multiple martial arts expertise, intellect, and being a billionaire majority shareholder of a top grade military contractor/technology corp. to supply him with gadgets. Clark Kent would be a strong and tall farmboy that Bats would knock off with out breaking a sweat, and the flash would be a regular detective/forensic scientist that Bats would take out while drinking a cold one.
  13. Should be some fun action on B&B #28 this weekend with two copies up in the Sunday Night Heritage auction: 4.5: http://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/the-brave-and-the-bold-28-justice-league-of-america-dc-1960-cgc-vg-45-cream-to-off-white-pages/a/121529-13266.s 3.5: http://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/the-brave-and-the-bold-28-justice-league-of-america-dc-1960-cgc-vg-35-cream-to-off-white-pages/a/121529-13267.s
  14. So, which is the book to have - Superman Adventures #5 or Action #835?
  15. Here is a small Kijiji lot I picked up today. 93 books for $80. The bowl: The ice cream: The cherry on top:
  16. Time to sell that Sandman 1st appearance of Lucifer fast before the show airs - sell on sizzle, not steak.
  17. Maybe they had 1st print covers sitting around and decided to use them up? They are all of the leftover #1 1st print covers that were returned from Loot Crate.
  18. The article states that Marvel will not be reissuing a corrected cover so every 6th print #1 will have the double covers.
  19. But, didn't he cure vampirism at the end of Blade 3 with the release of the antidote?
  20. The stores that lasted through the bust were the ones that would have them. They made big $$$ off of speculating in the 80s through the early 90s, but were savvy enough as businessmen to survive the bust afterwards. These stores will also likely have a lot of CA keys sitting in storage that they are not aware of if they bought out the backstock from the other stores that went under.
  21. The books would be in storage with LCS owners that bought the stock as the stores went under during the 90s purge. I can remember seeing a small part time dealer land a bunch of books like this in 2000 or 2001 that resulted in him having to rent a larger space to sell out of. There was some great stuff in it - the books came from the owners of a LCS that sold out in the early 90s peak but had stuff in storage that was not included in the deal (or maybe it was but they did not turn it over). Needless to say, they cherrypicked the best stock (likely was supposed to have been included in the deal) - there was a long box of Secret Wars #8s (selling for $10 apiece), longs of McSpidey #1s (selling for $4 apiece) , two shorts of ASM #300 (selling for $40 apiece), a long box of Wolverine #1s (1980 regular series - selling for $20 each), a short and a bit of NM #98 (selling for $10 apiece ) and all sorts of other hot late 80s and early 90s Marvel books. I bought a few of each and submitted the best copy during the early days of CGC when they were much harsher on Copper/Modern books, but foolishly did not go back for more when they only graded out 9.2-9.4. Hindsight being 20/20 I should have bought them all, but back then he had way better SA and BA stuff and the copper/modern books did not move well. A year or so later the same dealer landed another store stock group from the same seller. It was mostly early 90s drek, but there was a ton of pre-unity/retailer incentive/late run Valiant in it. I helped him move some of it in for first crack at it. There was a long box or more of Rai #0s that we laughed about as being trash like the longs with Turok #1, Bloodshot #1, Ninkak #1, etc. I debated buying the long box of Rai #0s for cheap along with the better stuff (which was still dirt cheap - I paid $5 for the Harbinger #0 Pinks but the rest were dollar books or less) since I liked the story, but passed. It was the smart move up until earlier this year, I guess.
  22. The sad part about the posters is this - they are trying to go for a "tough" look, but the team looks as intimidating as a group of 9 year olds with a messed up sand sculpture.
