  1. I did not realize it was a pedigree, sorry. The grading was loose on it, IMHO. I won a few books, chased and lost others, and overall was a little disappointed in the grading on the ones I received. At least they were way better than the Savannah books.......
  2. Was it the Twin Cities collection? They had nice colors and pages, if I recall correctly, but the grading was a bit loose IMHO.
  3. I thought that someone posted a page or two back about knowing him and how bad the illness is? In any case, I hope he gets the proper help.
  4. Isn't Foom his 1st appearance and Hulk #180 his second? That would be just like Harley Quinn - 1st appearance in a coloring book then 2nd appearance in BA 12.
  5. Thanks for the heads up. A LCS still has them at cover.
  6. You must have never read Dr. Strange, as Mordo is among the foremost nemesis of Dr. Strange, more or less what Dr. Doom is to the Fantastic Four. Everyone has a favorite Doom story. Does anyone have a classic Baron Mordo story they'd like to share? Anyone? The fact that you are comparing Mordo to Dr. Doom already shows you are biased… And no, I don’t have a classic Dr. Doom story, there are many that I like. Mordo is important for what it represents, more than Dormammu. You compared Mordo to Doom first... I'm out. I am curious to see which one becomes the bigger bad guy on the silver screen - Doom or Mordo. One has the might of Marvel Films/Disney behind it, the other has the history from the FF books.
  7. Wow, the Thing looks even worse in these new trailers. I guess they cut costs on the special effects?
  8. My guess is that it is likely due to lower supply of the Canadian variants. There should be more pence copies than Canadian blank cover editions.
  9. Zod turning into Doomsday will be fun to watch, if the rumors are true. (thumbs u
  10. You forgot another big one - Deadpool These three titles are great to take to shows as they put you in the black at shows. (thumbs u
  11. You'd think if Justice League Dark is greenlit to shoot in November, Warner Bros would keep an army of quality directors on speed dial. The film's core 'vision' would be baked into the screenplay, wouldn't it? Just bring in somebody known to deliver the goods. Get on with it. Besides, del Toro is going to be busy with Hellboy III after PR2. Yup. Pretty unbelievable that a project as big as this get's shuffled into anybody's second place. Pacific Rim was Del Toro's creation, right? If yes, then there are several millions of $$$$$ that would make the decision relatively easy for him. (thumbs u
  12. I can't remember if l listed the 4.5 before, but here are my current copies:
  13. The July effect is in full swing, I guess. Time to start buying over the next two weeks?
  14. there's no possibility it only does $300MM WW; unless you meant $150MM US + $300MM int'l which seems like where's it's headed. Depends -- International take so far is below the U.S. domestic (at $56.5 million), so that's entirely contingent on which international territories it's opened in, & I don't know. Forbes' Scott Medelsohn is now predicting it will track a la Thor 1 (which I had called 4 months ago) and finish with $156 million domestic / $390 million total (ww). I think the total international haul may be significantly less than $390. http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2015/07/19/box-office-ant-man-opens-with-tiny-58m-weekend/ Interestingly, it's actually done worse than Hulk -- when adjusted for inflation & 3-D prices, Hulk actually did the equivalent of $70 million its opening weekend in today's dollars. I'm not trying to be a naysayer; rather, my concern is how it effects the slate of potential unannounced films for other lesser-known Marvel heroes. If Ant-Man significantly under-performs expectations, Disney will have to a) reduce the budget for new films featuring more minor characters or b) delay and/or cancel them altogether. it's only opened in 1/2 the Int'l markets and is doing better than Cap 1 which did $195MM and bupkiss from China. i'll be the naysayer, i think already think a few movies on the in-production list will never see the light of day. shazam, black panther - wouldn't be shocked if those never get made. Shazam will get one kick at the cat due to the Rock being in it. Some of the other spin-off movies with lesser characters will likely not see the light of day, though, if the others "falter". I can see 2nd and 3rd tier characters being added to team movies anchored by the big guns, but as solo flicks it will be tougher. That being said, as long as the movies are clearing $400M worldwide they will likely keep on being churned out. Even if the total production and marketing cost is $200M, there is plenty of $$$ to go around after the fact. FWIW, the timing for the release of Ant-Man was terrible - launching a 3rd tier property in the middle of summer vacation? They should have switched the AoU and Ant-Man release dates as an Avengers movie will do well no matter when it isreleased.
  15. Wow. They did not move at all. The 4.5 only went for $4302 while the 3.5 only ended up at $2629. Too bad we went out for dinner tonight. I would have bid on the 3.5 at that low price.
  16. Who cares what Grant Morrison thinks. The guy is a hugely overrated hack.
  17. It will be interesting to see where the two copies on Heritage end up at tonight. The July effect seems to be hitting some other books I am watching now which makes for some tempting potential buys.
  18. Goes along with the assumption Joker killed Robin. That they show the Joker killing Robin in the movie as well. That would be a cool scene.
  19. He kind of looks like the head necromonger that Riddick kills in the Chronicles of Riddick movie.
  20. Agreed, but since I loaded up on a few 9.4 - 9.8 copies of Batman #357 before it took off I would love to see this happen.
  21. If this is actually true, then Batman #357 could have more legs to run...........
  22. I think it would be great if the Leto-Joker is Jason Todd! It would be a cool twist if he was the one that killed Grayson as well.
  23. Even a higher rating than Avengers: Age of Ultron. (thumbs u That is not hard to do, seeing as AoU was a weak movie.......
  24. If the 4.5 goes higher than that I will be tempted to move a copy to chase a couple of other books right away.
