  1. I agree as well, the Dark Knight Batman “type” that was the impetus for all the movies, the early ones included, started around this time I think. The earlier into the 60’s you go the more sci fi, campy things seem to get for me. Even the flippers have to realize though that many of these Adams keys will be desirable long into the future. I actually hope prices do dip post movie hype so more of us can afford some of these bad-boys in better grades. I agree that long term they will do well. After my next group of books comes in I will post another group shot.
  2. I agree with all of the points re: Adams Bats and Tecs, but looking at the recent run up in prices there appears to be movie hype frothiness to me. That being said, since I built up most of this stash at lower prices before the recent run up, I am more than happy to see it keep going.
  3. The movie hype giveth, and in a couple of months it will taketh........ I dont see why the movie would hype #227 though? Me neither, when people watch a batman movie they then think of Neal Adams Batman books ? The rise prices for common Bats and Tecs pre-movie is evident of this, just l Ike it was for ASM and Avengers common issues. Maybe I will be wrong, but I expect books to pull back a bit when the buzz dies down. The pattern happens with all movie related books, and Adams Bats should be no different.

  5. Nice and smooth transaction. Fast payment and friendly communication. Thanks!
  6. It will be interesting. The CC copy is beautifully centered and presents very well. Normally I'd go for it but I'm all spent up! The real reason HG slabbed Adams Batbooks are dipping in price right now - a reduction in top bidders by one.........
  7. Looks like it finished at $1025. Maybe too many high grade copies are available right now?
  8. Seller is a boardie. Rocketeer on the boards. Good luck to him with the sale. (thumbs u
  9. Nice. How many copies of the Turok #1 VVSS with the Second Life of Dr. Mirage #1 VVSS coupon have ever turned up? I know I sold one on your Valiant board about 10 years ago and one of the other boardies said he had one as well.
  10. Did you guys see the final hammer price with juice on the Hulk #1 in yesterday's Heritage Sunday night auction? It was a 2.0 that ended at just under $4300: http://comics.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=121227&lotNo=14241
  11. Great boardie to deal with. Fast payment and good communication. Thanks again, Mark! (thumbs u
  12. Send my a PM if you are looking for Archie digests. I have a few others from an old digest collection purchase kicking around.
  13. I finally have something of my own to post here. I picked up this box of comics today from a couple having a garage sale that got a hold of my number from an old online ad and gave me the heads up. Nothing spectacular, but there were 170 or so books in the box and the total cost was $100. The average grade on the books is VG, but unfortunately the best books, the GS X-Men #1 and DD #131, are quite a bit worse than that.
  14. Congrats to the buyer, then. At the worst, he overpaid a smidge for a bit of an overgraded book. At best, he got a deal on a 9.4. Either way he comes out fine. (thumbs u
  15. Depends. Looks like the book was overgraded a bit, so if it is only a 9.2 then he overpaid a bit.
  16. I would have taken this copy over my 9.2 with white pages that I paid almost as much for 6 months ago. Looks like price fluctuates based on availability. I will certainly keep this in mind for future purchases. This book does not look like a 9.4 in the cruddy pics. Small tear/nick middle right edge, spots of wear along the top edge, what appears to be a spine ding or maybe two, and on my wife's laptop this morning it looks like there could be something along the bottom edge as well.
  17. +1 Can't even remember the last time I got a back issue from an LCS... and Lord knows I try. Probably 3 years at least... My LCS has some nice 10 cent DCs right now, including Showcase #5, 9 and #10 if anyone is interested...... how nice is nice. VGish range. I called them nice since they are early SA DCs and do not turn up in that shape often. They are getting a run of 50s Romance books from the same seller this week as well.

  19. My LCS has been getting in some decent collections over the past year, but the DC runs are all missing the Adams Bats and Tecs. They just landed a nice 50s romance collection that will go on the walls in a day or two.
  20. Bats 232 doesn't get the respect it deserves, huge key in my book.I mean really the only bigger Bats villain would be the Joker.Very underrated book IMO. Agreed. I have long felt that Batman #232 should be the biggest book in the Adams Batman run. Unfortunately, this is an issue where supply can meet demand and the prices seem to be suppressed relative to #222 or #227 as a result. FWIW, good old Ras is my favorite Batman villain, with the Joker a distant second.
  21. It is interesting to see the hits/watchers counts on my Adams auctions this week. So far the Batman #232 is the winner by a long shot, the Tec #411 is next just 13 hits back, and the GL #76 and Bats #227 are tied about 30 viewers behind the #232.
  22. No worries, it is an inferior copy - off-white pages and off-centered cover.
  23. Upgraded from a 7.0 to this copy late last year thanks to Brian/foolkiller:
