  1. Holy sheepdip! that's an ugly copy also, someone probably thinks they can smush it into a 9.8. Maybe, but I think it is more of the upcoming movie effect. Prices have been jumping for a couple of months now on most of the Adams Batmans and Tecs, as well as other books tied to the movie such as Tec #359. With the way things are going I am very tempted to start unloading some more of my keeper copies and buy them back later post-movie for less.
  2. Wow. Check out the price on the #244 as well - 9.6 copies were selling for $500 late last year and this one hit $426. Looks like the lower prices last month were a good time to add more books for a short term pre-movie buy and flip. I should have snagged some more of them.
  3. Wow, this thread cooled off fast. I have been out of town the past two weeks - any new copies selling for top $$$?
  4. $5317 for the 7.0 (last GPA sale was for $9000 in December 2009) $4350 for the 6.5 (last GPA sale was for $5250 in Jan 2012) Wow, that's a 40% drop in value since 2009. I wonder when prices will start to level off ? I can`t remember a comic book key getting hot so fast, then cooling like this? Avengers #1 during the first run up a year or so ago. I expect it to do the same again after the movie.
  5. Congrats to boardie edgerx http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&hash=item19cf118eaf&item=110848216751&nma=true&pt=US_Comic_Books&rt=nc&si=75XiT1JIrqzWAlUX%252BGCk6HyxrY4%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
  6. I have seen 8.5s with edge creases like that and no tear, so maybe a 6.5/7.0 with the small tear as well?
  7. Awesome! Let's see this book hit GL #76 or Hulk #181 pricing in grade.
  8. Checking a couple of pages back, the 6.5 went lower a bit as well. Too many copies plus weaker demand = dropping prices.
  9. $5317 for the 7.0 (last GPA sale was for $9000 in December 2009) $4350 for the 6.5 (last GPA sale was for $5250 in Jan 2012)
  10. Prices on both GL #76 and #87 have peaked and pulled back a bit for now. However, they will probably slowly increase with time like the other BA keys. I am surprised at the strong prices being paid for the non-key Adams GL books right now. They have jumped a decent bit over the past few months, likely playing a bit of catch up. I agree with you on Tec #411 being a sleeper. I just sent in a potential 9.4 copy I received from another boardie yesterday. My it turns out that way as I paid for it as a 9.4 . The book has a small miswrap which is a bit of a pet peeve, but it will be a keeper until I can find an upgrade.
  11. There were too high expectations for the Green Lantern Movie and prices would have held up if the movie was a success. Have prices of the entire Green Lantern Silver Age dropped off correspondingly since last spring? Prices have soften on GL too, but some are still holding up quite strong. Showcase 23 has been doing very well. Since GL1 hasn't risen as much as SC22, prices are holding up. Great time to be a GL buyer now. The non-key Adams GLs (all of the others excluding #76 and #87) are jumping up a bit now. My guess is this is just a continuation of the Adams Batbooks trend, but who knows.
  12. 227 I'd imagine. Yep. I was actually surprised it lasted that long. I wonder if i left money on the table. Either way, it's a new GPA record. Wow! Congrats on the sale, Supa. Yep, congrats. Plus, now I'm not the only person_having_a_hard_time_understanding_my_point who's paid just under 1k for this book in 9.2. Thanks for making that happen for me. (thumbs u Now you are the trendsetter instead. That sounds better to me.
  13. If I had one I would put it up at $2000 and see what happens...........
  14. Congrats on the sale! I wonder what a 9.4 would go for on eBay right now?
  15. The splash is neat, but still not great either. Looking at the trees and swamp theme, he could have done a Batman in the trees overlooking a mysterious boat concept sort of like the Tec #405 cover.
  16. +1 I am also not a big fan of the cover to #234. This is the one Adams Batman BA "key" that I do not tend to hold onto when I pick up a copy.
  17. No worries if you did decide to flip it. I am an Adams collector, but if the price is right I move any book.
  18. It is about time, IMHO. I started picking up copies a couple of years ago, but chickened out on that 9.6 that was sitting on Clink for a while. The ask price was $1500, but when I put in lowball offers it triggered a confirm purchase at $825. Wish I had done it, because a 9.6 might be a $1500 book now. After selling these two all I am down to in hand is this copy:
  19. And it looks like I should have had a higher asking price on the 8.5 copy. Enjoy it. (thumbs u
  20. I was fine with the hammer price, but was hoping it would end up going for more with a bit of luck. I probably should have waited another week before listing it for the month end, but maybe that person that upgraded his 8.5 was the one bidder I needed to see it pop for more. I was shocked at how high my 7.0 Tec #359 went. I did not realize it was that hot of a book right now. Before this, I was worried I was going to take a bath on that auction lot and this book along covers the whole shebang including slabbing costs and delivers a modest profit.
  21. Looks like Tec #411 might even be hotter than Batman #227 based on my current auction hit totals: Batman #227 CGC 8.5 - 54 views Tec #411 CGC 9.0 - 62 views There are currently more bids on the Batman #227, though, but based on the number of watchers (25) I can see the Tec #411 getting some decent bidding action in the end.
  22. That is why I have decided to put some of the others up for sale now as well. Here's hoping they all sent new GPA records.
  23. Is that the one we were talking about? Yes. I used to be worried about those right edge handling creases/tears and did not send in books. Now that I know it will only knock them down to the 8.5/9.0 range with CGC it is not as big of an issue.
  24. That was a good deal for sure. Paid that for a 6.0 prior to the movie It will get back up there in time. FWIW, that is why I sold all of my copies prior to the movie.
