  1. Oh my god I don't even have all the issues!!!

Lol... just realized how it was stupid.

Completism caused me a lot of anxiety over time, I tought I needed all the issues, then I got all the issues but some are not in good condition so I consider that I didn't own them so I need to quickly find another copy to find my hole, and I'm hurry to finish the run so I m gonna overpaid for mess when they are thousand of nice deals on  beautiful books out there...

This morning I just won a book for 100$... why I decided to pull the trigger? Because the books was just so cool, as simple as that, I don't own any other issue from the run and I'm not planning to get other ones until I find some for cheap and if it never happen... it never happen.

BE FREE, you heard it 100 times but I have to repeat it: buy only what you like.

Hope this thread could help some people who have the same problem I had before.

Just wanted to share my mindset on a collecting question.

Other experiences with it are welcome ;)

I’ve seriously wondered if this seller is deceased. I’ve sent him 3 messages, over a 3 year time span, mostly asking about back cover. No response

Once you rip off the covers, the books will be worth no more than every other book you've destroyed.  I doubt anyone will place a premium on a coverless 1990s book, signed or not.  Play silly games and get silly prizes.

Lol I will never try to sell my coverless books...

You know there's a pinned thread on top of this forum with all comic shops in it, yes?

    :jawdrop: thank you.

Otherwise... i think you could have lost our private discussion I sent you a reply about a month ago and you didn't read it yet. What about? Have you just forgot it or not interested anymore of what we talked about?

  5. OK, I'm actually trying to find some unwanted stuff who often go the trash...

As I know this kind of books are more often avalaible on the physical shops rather than on the online selling website, so I have an idea to acquire what im looking for, I will contact some LCS!

Yes i know i can find them by thousand on google maps but if you have a good LCS in your town and want to make them some publicity is right now

    1.  Condition is a huge factor, as always.

    2. Location and look of signature is also a factor.

    3.  Now cgc authenticates signatures, so that be an option which adds value even to the raw comic, if (and only if) the grades are ultra high.

If we assume (even though help was requested but no info was provided), that we are dealing w otherwise NEAR MINT-ish comics and the signatures are on the inside splash, I would add value of $3-$5 each, maybe a bit more (but not a lot more) for keys

note: when asking for free internet help from strangers, consider what other factors/questions people might ask you while trying to help and provide it up front to make it easier for people to help and save everyone’s time

OK so I definitely have to keep them.

    Thanks

Hi BA773, how's the coverless book collection going?  Shock was hyperbole I suppose to make the topic sound interesting. Based on the condition of the front cover I was disappointed to find a gross stain on the back of the book. I think it's an understandable reaction even with a relatively cheap book. Other posters in this topic have had issues with expensive stuff.

Yeah as I tought you not really had some good exemple yourself but It was a way to start an interesting thread :peace:

    The collecting goes well.

  8. OK, so almost a year ago I bought a fantastic run of Wonder Woman from 1 to 108. With time I slowly started to read some of them... finally the day I read #15 I discovered a Perez signing... the story was continuing in the next issue so few days after I read #16... WHAT A SURPRISE! it was signed too... finally I decided to check and the fact is that I have a full run from #1 to #23 signed by Perez, yeah most of this stuff is not worth something but it still a really famous run that tons of people have on their list, and there is also few books that we could consider as key... 1,7,9??

So what do you think could worth a lot of 25 books signed by the same artist?

They re cool and if they are no benefit to make it would be nice to keep them for my collection... but if I could sell them much more than what they worth usually and buy them again then it could be nice.

Someone have an idea of how price this?

    Thanks.

Share an experience, including photos, of a comic you thought was ok, but when you took a closer look there was a nasty defect.

Here's my example. On the weekend I went to a closing down sale of a store over here in Brisbane, Australia. The shop was packed with people. As a Jim Lee fan I was happy to find an Alpha Flight 51, Jim Lee's 1st art for Marvel, while digging through the bins. It looked solid and for $4 I didn't bother pulling it out of the bag & board to inspect it.

When I got it home I found this on the back cover.

It looks a combined mould food stain. A shock twist :(

However I don't really understand how you could be shocked at this point for $4. When I clicked on this thread I tought it was about expensive stuff.
