  1. I have no interest in leaks. GoT is the first time in a very long time that I've experienced "appointment television". I don't DVR it and wait, i don't download it a few days later. I know that I'm going to tune in on Sunday night and watch it live with so many other millions of folks, and we'll have a shared experience. It's fun, and reminds me of my youth, before media became so splintered.
  2. I think selling it on your own for cash is going to get you the most bang for your buck. A trade situation isn't going to be ideal for anyone (you get less than FMV for your book, the dealer has to trade down to a less desirable copy, even if he does get a decent percentage on the difference.) Maybe a little more work, but if it's a truly desirable book, worth the effort.
  3. Also, I'll warn that this is NOT the movie to watch if you're trying to quit smoking! Halfway through, I needed a butt.
  4. I'm torn between 7.5 and 8, kinda depends on how deep those dents on the back are. Black cover makes them look worse than they might actually be.
  5. $10 is a super buy. Not as good as when I got one for cover price when it came out, but of course, I sold it long ago, and now that I'm trying to rebuild my Bat collection, the prices are up up up. $10 is a steal, great pick-up!
  6. I don't get the appeal of Artgerm, as it's too slick and digital to be appealing to my tastes. But I accept that everyone likes what they like. So by all means, everyone start snapping his stuff up, and leave more Bolland, Stevens and Hughes books for me!
  7. Still haven't finished reading last year's yet! I don't use the actual guide very often, but I always enjoy reading the market reports and looking through the picture galleries. I always sort of think of Overstreet as a Yearbook for comics. I'll pick a new one up whenever I go to a show that the Hero Initiative is set up at, so I can snag one of their exclusive covers while also helping the charity out.
  8. Smart approach, for sure. While it's true that the pool of buyers is probably fairly small, I have no doubt that you'll have some highly interested parties. Seems like there's a hardcore collector out there for pretty much everything. Good luck!
  9. Hey, it's Matt! Hey Matt! This is really cool. I love how at the end they show someone rifling through a bin of comics, featuring heavy hitters like Mantra and Brigade.
  10. I'd check the titles against eBay and see if you have any out of print stuff. People pay crazy money for some of these. There's good money in OOP TPB's that a lot of sellers overlook.
  11. Careful not to press it too flat. It may spread out and become a Giant Sized Man Thing. Better to just leave your man thing in its sleeve, I think.
  12. I always thought the Thing was roughly in line with the Hulk. Of course, they've both been depicted many ways and many heights over the years. But I'm still surprised that Ben Grimm is only 6'.
  13. It's worth it for that alone! The movie is just so stylishly done, attention paid to every visual and audio detail.
  14. I have no problem at all with the races/ages/genders of the characters being changed. Makes no difference to me at all. But the whole "MJ" thing really does smell like a backpedal. Just own it! Who cares?
  15. Right there with you. If I walk into a comic shop full of gamers, I usually just turn around and walk back out. My experience as a shopper, and also as a comic shop employee (long ago) are that gamers live up to most of the stereotypes applied to them.
  16. Nice book! I had this poster on my wall when I was a kid. Are Marvel just using Jim Lee's old trading card and poster art as covers these days? Does Jim get any money out of it?
  17. I've always felt that "modern age" should be the contemporary period. No matter what year it is, however many years down the line, that is "modern age". Therefore, while the 90's post-Copper period was "modern" for a time, I think IT should be renamed, as some have suggested, "The Chrome Age", (or "Chromium" or something along those lines), and the NEW "Modern Age" begun with either Ultimate Spidey 1, or Walking Dead 1 (my vote goes for WD 1, as it is still relevant.)
  18. Time for my seemingly bi-monthly statement of support for JRJr. I like his stuff, including the recent stuff with Jansen. I had a few pages from their Cap run and loved them. His stuff is kinetic, has a lot of energy. I know it's not for everyone, but I like it. Anyone wanting to dump some JRJr pages dirt cheap, be sure to hit me up!
