  1. Great looking 1.8 and I don't mind the Stan Lee autograph on this copy.
  2. I can understand PSA6 and lower staying the same, and the exponential for the higher grade. Of course if the higher grades moves much much higher, lower grade will eventually perform better. On another note, I made this correlation of Amazing Fantasy 15/Mickey Mantle 1952 Topps and Action Comics 1/T206 Honus Wagner in the old AF15 thread over five years ago.
  3. Hey, I wore a Spiderman Belt and stuff when I was that young. I still have a picture of me wearing it too.
  4. It's amazing PSA 8.5 grade fetch double of a PSA 8.0. Thanks for the link.
  5. I have to agree to this correlation. For years, the Mickey Mantle 1952 Topps has been undervalue and the entry level was much lower than it was the last five years. The Mickey Mantle in PSA8 are now fetching six figures and could fetch up to one million+ in PSA9+. Any acceptable T206 Honus Wagner will fetch mid six figures+. AF15 and Mickey Mantle are the same correlation in terms of supply and demand.
  6. Hey..if nothing was done...would have been like the unrestored Action 7 4.0 rusted staple.
  7. Sure...a bit stronger than restored....but still restored in old label...
  8. At this level..it's already in record territory for a restored Action 1.
  9. The 8.5 Heritage sold during that time at 155K. It is now June 2017, prices have gap up for 8.0+ copies...even 7.0-7.5 has seen an increased price pressure. Of course, copies which presents well with no chips has seen increase pricing pressure. The ship has sailed and I've wish I could have added another 6.0+ copy.
  10. I bought fresh to the market pre-robbins before and in time they will show up.
  11. I bet the owner won't accept less than the last copy that sold strong.
  12. Collecting can be addictive. Collect some sell some.
  13. This was just listed on CL http://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fsearch.asp%3Fwhere%3Dsell%26title%3DAMAZING%2BFANTASY%2B15%26ItemType%3DCB&id=1187602
  14. Upgrading and holding worked well for you.
  15. Fair enough. Here's an interesting data point. AF15 grades between 4.0-9.0 were the worst performers in 2009-2014, and the last few years are performing much stronger then the lower grades.
  16. Interesting Data and thanks for sharing. I find the buy an hold strategy worked well for AF15's holders since the inception of CGC. Timing the market could be a random walk for some. Many folks here have flipped AF15's did very well, for new buyers continue to influx into the market. Also, there were very strong growth periods in 2008 of AF15, and the last few years. AF15 didn't increase the 15% annual return between 2009-2014, so it was a more holding period then selling. This recent gap up increase has shocked everyone. Many copies of great eye appeal has sold very strong and has confirmed the new establish FMV. It's going to be hard to predict if this recent price increases will be hold or more increases will occur. This time around the demand has outstripped the demand and more real money entering the market.
  17. Prior to Barton AF15 9.2 sale, a strong offer pry loose the infamous AF15 9.2 date stamp copy which sold on Pedigree. I agree the H1 9.0 went back up so quickly for sale and the other 9.0 at offered on CC didn't help either. The AF15 8.5 (former CBCS) copy will fetch much more now, for the market has moved so quickly. As you mention before, no one likes to be the one to set records. I've set records on many books and was rewarded very handsomely for my collection at a lower cost average. I've seen those marquee books of yours before and the stunning AF15 7.0, X-men 1 9.6, and others.
