  1. I'm glad his wallet convinced him to change his tune from a few years ago
  2. I heard there was a buyer at C2E2 for it but they searched high and low and no bedrock was found.
  3. None of them are huge money, whether or not they are worth grading will be basically how perfect they are and what value you want to get out of them. As a 7 most of them are about $40, however most of them would likely sell pretty well as a raw card for $10-20. Now if they are an 8 or a 9 they start to push 50-80+++ which is where I'd personally think it becomes more profitable to send them in. Looks like from the scans I can see some pretty big scratches on the Hitmonchan and Magneton (however that could be the glass of the scanner)
  4. They don't. Sent in one with a label error. Spent 3months with cgc came back with a new case and the same error. I love not being able to sell a book for 6 months cause of cgc errors.
  5. Looking to potentially purchase something but would want to do a face to face transaction if possible. So hoping to find a well established board member to help facilitate this. Feel free to PM
  6. Hi Nicki, No problem at all. Can we trouble you for population report if you have the raw data but not accessible to us? Would love to see the results thus far for the Mickey Lorcana Card
  7. I haven't used GSP/EIS in recent years, we are fortunate to have good buddies who will take the box in the USA and ship to us or allow us to pick up at several US shows we attend a year. The biggest issue with GSP in years past was they built in fees that were astronomical, from having to double ship (as it went from the seller to a hub, inspected, repacked and then sent from the hub to Canada). After that they built in 13%++ for duties/customs/handling even if items didn't qualify, it wasn't uncommon to see a cheaper item with shipping being 3or4x what it should be for shipping and fees. We stopped buying from anyone who offered GSP as their option. If you can continue to ship in house it will definitely be a benefit to your buyers as it will be cheaper than going through EIS/GSP. Side note will you guys be at C2E2 in a few weeks? @mycomicshop
  8. Hi Kailee, I'm looking for the population reports/census for the cards (to see how many have been graded and what the grade breakdown is). It looks like only Pokemon/Magic are listed right now though, however I know several have already been graded by cgc
  9. Not a covid bubble book but: Ms Marvel 1. Tis pretty nasty from 4k to 1k now
  10. I've tried searching by the card, the set, the manufacturer but had no luck. Disney Lorcana promo set (7 cards) that CGC features in some of their advertising.
  11. essentially the holos & red cheeks pika. none of the common/uncommon unless they have shots at 10s and thats very unlikely with cgc
  12. Since it might not be obvious. The book was signed and then sent in to be signed. Shoulda been a grellow or taken a hit for the grade.
  13. I think Spidey 1 9.8 SS is a good book. It's not a great book when compared to ASM 1. Yes Stan and Todd have both signed kajillions of copies of books and there will always be demand. My question would be if a double signed copy goes up in value will others be "forced" to chase it or are there alternatives. ASM 1 is ASM1 you can't have a run, you can't have JJJ 1st appearance, you can't have the #1 without Spidey 1. If you want a double signed book by stan and todd you have LOTS to choose from. Of course history is not always correct but it does lead to some indicators. Stan passed in 2018. Since 2018 Spidey GOLDS have been worth (excluding the run up during covid) about $1000. It's now hovering around $1500. In that same time period ASM 1 was worth about 4k, now hovering around 8-9k, I'd expect that the asm1 outpaces the Spidey 1990s. Believe me I get the appeal of the SS books between myself and one other we spent almost 30k with McFarlane signing, both for short term and long term gains.
  14. Spidey is the most collected run. Most collectors have been priced out of AF15s and you can't have a complete run without #1. Always buy the biggest book first, if it goes up in price it will hurt the most (ala if it goes up 20% that is 2k, if the other books go up 20% thats only a few hundred). I don't want to turn this into a sales thread but if you need a #1 we've got a 2.0 right in your pricepoint ;)
  15. As Joey said it's been literally years now. You are probably the sole reason holding things together as you have actually got stuff done when others have dropped the ball...or just not even bothered to pick up the ball. We paid for faster turn around times on these books as we have several shows coming up and wanted to have the books for these shows (one of which is our second biggest show of the year), now I'm either unable to sell them and send them back to spend MONTHS (even though my grading time was only a couple weeks via standard/fast track) or I have to point out the defects to any potential buyer which if I was the buyer would tell me to either pound sand or take a discount. Seems like I'm losing on both ends. I think CGC needs to start refunding grading fees on these instances, and I will be asking that customer service refund some of the fees. Maybe at that point when even more money is flushed down the drain they'll start to learn and change directions.
  16. Nothing like chunks of plastic in the case. @CGC Mike at what point does cgc get their spoon together. If I sell these I'm a d noozle... If I get them reholder Ed I miss 3 or 4 shows. Gotta be some accountability at some point.
  17. I heard a rumour it was @NewWorldOrder and his content Ok Im kidding I just think you should enjoy this
  18. Are you suggesting Roy put on spandex and fight crime?
  19. @RLL as Paul mentioned this is from the shadowless print run however as it's only a short crimp (where the top and bottom of the pack are sealed) it's not guaranteed to be shadowless as part of the print ended up being unlimited.
  20. It would be way more profitable for cgc to figure out their inability with QC than to add another set of custom labels.
