  1. No, not the Canadian edition. It is U.S.A. printed, as said on bottom of inside on cover.
  2. I pulled out my copy to take a photo to show you here.
  3. I got a question about the Dell Giants that were published in the early 1950s. You know these ones with 100 pages something that? I see that books had the price tag on covers showing "25c", right? Ok, my question is ... did Dell put out a price variant during the publishing at same time, to test out price increase in some areas? I have one Dell Giant "Silly Symphonies" #4 with a price tag saying "30c" in my personal collection. I have always wondered if it has a good value because of that fact? I brought this one many years ago in one of anquite furniture shows of all places.
  4. Got the book in mail. It arrived Friday. Gonna start reading it a bit now. 28 days to begin...
  5. I could see in going there next year in summer. If I can a friend to join.
  6. Yeah... just saw the website saying the 4 days pass tickets are all sold out! I brought 2 days tickets... good enough for me.
  7. I would be interested in reading this one. That thread about Gladiator got the best of my curiosity and being a science fiction reader.
  8. I'm so tingy shivering when I see the ending of the show as JSA characters made their appearances. The geek in me is feeling joy Looking forward for the next episode.
  9. I finally got my vintage comic book spinner rack yesterday. My friend had delivered it to me from U.S. on his way to Vancouver. I will take photos later when I find a good spot to put the rack there. I did find a cool piece of history tucked behind one of the signs. Seems that the store owner had wrote the colour codes by weekly in order. You know the distributor sprayed a line on top of comic books to be sent to stores? That is what is seen on paper ... see the photo. It may be faint to read but hey, it is almost 50 years by age!
  10. I had brought a couple books from him about two years ago. One of the books, was the ASM 25 in low-mid grade. He said that in the auction. Upon getting this book in hand, it was actually more like a 2.5-3.0 with tan/ow pages. Since then, I stay away from him and his auctions. The bids I've seen are insanely high, some close to CGC levels on raw books.
  11. I like it, and that is only the beginning of season 2. I bet something big is coming up later.
  12. C'mon JP, give us some details. This name is familiar to me... I seem to remember had read an article in one of comic book themed magazine many years ago. It talked about this place how great if was. I'm getting old ... can't remember what magazine!
  13. I almost forgot about the music! The Comicshop also had an eclectic soundtrack to it, and to this day I can be driving in my car, listening to the radio, and hear a song (I remember they used to play the White Album a lot) that immediately drags me back to those long gone treasure-filled comic bins of my youth Really? I never knew the staff had played music in the Comicshop. Of course, due to me not able to hear ... But the long gone treasure-filled bins? These, are what I remembered the best. I had finished my Archie Digest collection full from the results of these bins under the tables. Great old photos to share! Thanks for showing.
  14. I think so, or a colored copy. Either way, for a $1? Nice job, Mrs. Donut. The DIY corner adds to the charm of the book. Good find by the Mrs! Or the charm of Mrs. Donut if this corner was of yarn sewed onto the book! Great find for $1
  15. Nothing great to find in local yard sales this weekend. But I did found two big hardcover volumes of TWD for $10. They are fresh new and clean.
  16. That is the store I went (after school) every Thursday or Friday to get my dose of new comics. Alway a good blast to wipe off the horrible times at school on my mind. Yes, there was a girl working behind the counter what I remembered. They had a section of magic cards downstairs on first floor. Second floor are comics and posters, even graphic novels and EC/Gladstone hardcover slipcases.
  17. Heh, same as I was there in this store. They had great selection on walls. Best times as a kid!
  18. Saw the SS movie with friends today. Thought as what I've seen ... A good popcorn flick is what it is. Sure, yeah - it's nowhere close to some Marvel movies were made. About somewhat the same as BvS was. Some characters by actors/actresses played are good. Will Smith as Deadshot was good, for one. Croc was not bad. Harley Quinn is good (the homage to the one-shot cover of Joker and Harley is nice touch). Action was ok. Joker with bling rings? Call me old school but I like the old version of Joker. Razz me all you want, but it is what I know during my youth. I'm not a fan of hip hop bling what-ever-you-call that thing! Other than that, it's not a bad movie and I enjoyed ate my bag of popcorn.
  19. Great score you made, what lunch you had to give such luck to dig in comics?
  20. Had watched it today and I thought it was a good enjoyable movie. Gave it a 7 out of 10. Not as great as the first reboot movie, so that stays in top. The current movie is a second and third is the ST: Darkness movie. The new Enterprise at the ending was a nice touch with the classic lines mixed in.
  21. Ah that puzzle ... I remember had one Hulk puzzle as a Christmas gift when I was a kid.
