  1. Packaged action figures from the 70s and 80s routinely sell for more than this piece. Crazy to think about that disconnect, eh? I mean are Snake Eyes, Boba Fett and He-Man really more important than Superman? ...than the FIRST Superman toy AND the FIRST action figure toy? No...and yet...
  2. It was very very powerful, solemn and emotional. I thought they did an amazing job with that entire sequence.
  3. One of my favorite artists of all time. He really got me into comics in the first place with his Fantastic Four run. I picked up about 5 issues around #250 while the family was visiting an uncle and was hooked ever since. Had a huge collection of any book he had art in long before the Internet and eBay made it easy. It being friends with Terry Austin in the early 90s helped as he'd clue me in to obscure stuff or source something oddball for me. One of the highlights of my life was going with Terry to John's house for a visit back in 1995. I got to have dinner with Byrne & Austin, and for this comic fan it doesn't get any better than that. I never really read much of his stuff after Next Men finished as I didn't really buy new comics anymore. The few pages of Elsewhen I've seen were okay. Thoughts on one of the GOATs? Any personal stories or opinions on his artwork? I welcome them all because I know he's also a grump that rubs some the wrong way.
  4. Had this spicy little meatball show up today. Cover & centerfold completely attached at the one meager staple and the book is complete. 😎
  5. It's like one of my dreams come to life.
  6. Bob Dylan has been overrated in every way since the beginning.
  7. LOL. That looks horrible. It's like there's a collective effort between every studio to destroy the comic book movie genre.
  8. It probably would have made more as a porno.
  9. It's wonderful. I purchased an autographed hardcover copy when it was first released. I enjoyed it and will probably read it again this summer.
  10. Love that HOS #88. Such a classic cover. Thanks for posting!
  11. I just asked Sal about the cost on this one when Alex posted it yesterday. I really REALLY love it, but at $6k it's out of my reach at the moment.
  12. You know what? My bad. I believe I have "returns enabled" on my selling account because it gives me some sort of discount on fees, which is why I said what I said. Sorry for the adversity. You're correct.
  13. It is absolutely true. Yes, the buyers have to request the return...that's what I meant. I didn't mean you just send it back without anyone knowing about it. You can return it for ANY reason at all once you request the return. Once tracking shows it's been delivered back to the seller they have to refund within a certain number of days or eBay automatically takes it out of your account. Now, if they return it for a reason that's not the seller's fault the seller isn't obligated to refund shipping charges, but they're definitely on the hook for the price of the item. eBay sides with the buyer 99.99999% of the time if they request a return.
  14. You don't watch a lot of tv or movies? I figured you'd have it just to get all the wrestling events that aren't televised.
  15. No matter what any seller states in their listings, you can always return an item you weren't happy with for whatever reason.
  16. The more I think about it the more I don't think either of them is questionable. I mean, if you were Disney and said "Hey, here's a guy who developed a cartoon for us! Oh, by the way you can find full frontal nude pics of him on the internet." I don't think that would sit well with you.
  17. Kirby is a visionary and his creations changed the industry. Alex is a far better artist. By FAR.
  18. Yeah, that's why I thought I'd ask here. I don't need a mess. Lol.
  19. I'm not really sure. If it can't be done cheaply I'll just suck it up and go with the white, but wanted to ask first in case someone already did it.
  20. That's awesome. Same here when our store closed. I got to take the huge "target" with Bugs coming out of the center. The thing was massive, but after a few moves I couldn't lug it around anymore and had to let it go for $50.
  21. I'm talking about the ones most dealers use...when inverted you can display comics on them easily. They only come in white and I'd like to get some in black, so the only option would be to spray-paint them. They have that coating on the surface, though. Anyone? Thanks for the help.
  22. I ran a WBSS gallery for 6 years. Very fond memories of working at that store. Soooooooo much cool stuff, and so much stuff I should have saved instead of sold. I knew the guys in distribution so I was able to get a lot of choice production cels and #1s of lithos for my gallery shows or whenever I wanted to purchase something myself. I still have some promotional stuff but no merch.
