  1. Good morning, Thank you for your message. There is no set time an order might remain in any particular department. It just depends on the tier you selected and the overall turnaround time. If you selected a higher tier with a faster turnaround time, it will get through a bit faster and if you selected a lower tier with slower turnaround time, you will see it in each department longer.   2. Good morning, Thanks for your message. If the submission was sent in by a dealer on your behalf then it will show under the dealer's account and not your own personal account. However, if they have it shipping back to you directly and your name and address are listed then we can provide you with information on your order.   4. Good morning, Thank you for your message. Every book that leaves our office does go through quality control. We do try to pull any items that have any visible issues like scratches, smudges, etc. and have them reholdered. Can items get missed and shipped out with a scratch or a smudge? Of course. We are only human and are examining thousands of items each day so occasionally something might make it through that we should have caught. If you receive a book that has an issue like this, you have up to two weeks from the receipt date to notify us and we can reholder the book for you at no charge. We do not ship books with broken holders, however. Everything is well packaged by our shipping department and the vast majority of items shipped arrive at their destination without any issues. Unfortunately, sometimes items can be damaged during transit, even when the items are packaged properly. CGC has no control over how packages are handled by the carrier during transit to you. But again, if you receive a package that has any damage to your holders, contact us immediately and we can send you instructions and a pre-paid label to send the items back for a complimentary reholder. We take the safety of your items very seriously and try to take every precaution to prevent any issues like these from occurring.   6. Good morning, Thanks for your message. Is it a COA that you have for your book? We don't recommend including those as they are not encapsulated with the book and can also become separated from the book during the grading process. If you want to include the information you can always include a photocopy of it along with your book. Your submission is currently in line to be graded. The largest Comic size we can accommodate is: 10-1/2” tall 7-5/8” wide 1/4” thick If the book exceeds these measurements then it would have to go under magazine. The largest size magazine we can encapsulate would be: 11-1/2” tall 8-7/8” wide 1/2” thick Thank you!

Our graders would have to review and examine each page before they could determine if it was a manufacturing defect or if it had been trimmed.   10. Good morning, If it is brand new then it most likely hasn't been entered into the database yet. If there is an "add new" option you can click on that and enter that in. If not, you can also just hand write it on your packing slip once you print that out. Thank you!
  11. Good morning, Thanks for your email. Unfortunately, a COA would not be sufficient to receive a signature series label. We don't use COA's and do not recommend customers send in their COA for grading with their book. The only ways to receive a signature series label would be if the signature was witnessed by an authorized CGC witness or the signed book was sent to us directly from the artist with the appropriate paperwork.   18. Good morning, We are opening all private signing packages as they are received. Did you notate the artist's initials on the outside of the box? This is required so we can distinguish the private signing orders from a regular submission. We pull those marked with the initials out and send them down to our signature series receiving room right away and they are opened and entered. It can still take some time to get logged in just due to the volume of submissions we receive for the signings but it will be much faster than regular mail. Thank you!

  22. Good morning, Yes, a signed book can be pressed and graded. In most cases it is perfectly safe to press a signed book. If we felt there was any issue with the sort of ink the signer used on the book and it might cause damage, we would not press it. Thank you!
