  1. I have only just noticed that now, OUTSIDE ebays ludicrous 'Global Shipping' debacle, they are now applying "Import Tax" automatically on every comic purchase to Australia from USA, and I assume to other areas? (be nice to know if that's the case). That's great, except in Australia, we don't pay 'Import Tax' or 'GST' on anything comic related under $1000. We also don't seem to charge it to any other country via ebay. EG: SOLD 15 Sep 2018 Lot Of 4 Incredible Hulk Marvel Comic Books # 212 213 214 215 Avengers Thor NP7 Incredible Hulk AU $27.84 Sep-15 15:35 10% GST will apply From United States Was: Previous priceAU $55.69 Is this new (I knew about the GSP 'tax' and like 99% of Aust/NZ buyers ignored those sellers that used it.) - if so, this will surely significantly reduce international sales to Australia for American sellers? Are any countries exempt now from this mystical 'Import Tax' that Ebay just decided to add to sales from USA to the rest of the world? It seems really odd to add an unilateral tax which will only drive down sales. Do dealers now charge this tax as well? Thanks for replies as i genuinely only noticed this tax outside of the Global Shipping Programme today!
  2. Kav is right. Eventually #180 will be recognised for what it is - 1st Wolvie. I don't have either for exactly that reason.
  3. Thats amazing! I guess they guy checking the printing of Detective #498 must have been having a quiet nap one night. So there are 2 copies with double inserts - I found mine in the wild. Thanks for that Marwood
  4. Sorry - Detective Comics #498
  5. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/The-Felix-Annual-Felix-The-Film-Cat-RARE-c-1920s-ID-800/232680544112?hash=item362cd75770:g:GFMAAOSw30NalU44 Another 1920's contender? I believe this is the 2nd one from 1925?
  6. Thanks Guys - I will get it slabbed up (it's high grade anyway) and hang on to it for a while. Thanks for your replies and help
  7. This is why I like these boards. I went and unsealed this book and guess what - it's 1924, if the inscription is to be believed. I doubt Margaret was telling porkies to Ted! Hopefully this has settled it. The above book (mine) is from 1924 and most likely the first Felix. Unless anyone else has one inscribed earlier.............
  8. That is an absolute rippa! Great book!
  9. I posted this in the noob section, but I think I'll get better viewing in here. "As you know some comics have a 'Mark Jewellers' insert, MOTU insert etc. I have a book with the 'Atari' insert - except there are two of them, both firmly attached. Is this unusual, and worth hanging on to or should I just regard it as another book with an insert, albeit a double?" Thanks!
  10. This will probably be the cheesiest of all cheesy books ever. Big Thanks To Greg Reece for the super generous deal. I present: Swing with Scooter #1 - Top census with CGC and top-ranked for total cheese. I love it, and it's going on my wall
  11. I've wanted a nice copy of that for ages, so yes........ Who could resist Leonard Nimoy's eyebrows? That was a great haul though, I certainly agree!
  12. Star Trek #1 - great book! All are great books - congrats!!
  13. Do you disagree Hector? I assume you have read the series - it's very hard-core. The reason Hughie joins 'The Boys' should tell us within 30 secs where this show has been set. A-Train has been cast, so it seems they are staying at least partially true to the story. I had hoped Anthony Starr would be playing Hughie - but he isn't - check him out with a beard in Banshee - he even looks like Hughie! But yeah - some of the issues are completely 'R' rated - They can't tone the content down, so they either just ignore it (and ruin the story) or make it R rated. Karl Urban did 'Doom' - which was pretty violent, and Deadpool showed that 'R' can work. I hope they don't water it down.. Jings!
  14. Apologies if missed another thread. Seems a definite goer - 8 part series with Karl Urban as Butcher. Anthony Starr from Banshee is cast but his role is not named. Slated for release in 2019 by Amazon Studios/Point Grey Pictures. Filming in Canada. Loved the series - can they cram it all into 8 episodes? Doubt they will be showing the teenage super-heroes circle jerk scenes though...... This 100% needs to be a genuine 'R' rated show - or it just won't work. Here's hoping!
  15. I'm sure the seller was completely innocent. I don't expect him to pony up - but I am not paypal. However - the first question paypal will ask is "have you contacted the seller?" I'm sure you would agree that it would be nice to be able to answer their sensible question,no? Who do you think paypal will go after - PGX? Or the guy who has the OP's $$ in their paypal account. Anyone who has had the misfortune to be involved in an 'item returned as not as described' knows the answer to that. Sure - the seller is completely innocent probably - paypal cares not a jot.
  16. Did you pay with paypal? If so hopefully you are still in the timeframe to lodge a complaint and seek a full refund. You bought what you thought (and was no doubt advertised) as a complete book, and when a reputable company examined it - it was found to have 2 pages missing. If this isn't a case for 'item not as described' - well I don't know what is! What did the ebay seller say? Good Luck
  17. I have been collecting a 1st appearance of characters in 'Guardians Of The Galaxy movie #1' set. First ones arrived back today - still some to go through the process - about 11 '1st apps' of characters in the movie to get in total - with a 'pop' figure of course! Why? Why not! Great film, great soundtrack, lots of fun characters!
  18. Hello If they were on subscription then $1 USD was the price - news-stand versions - those shipped to Australia for sale to the public from shops were $1.50 AUD I guess they determined the exchange rate at the time for the 'to the public' sales to dictate the price. But yeah, ones on subscription were in USD, News-stand versions sold in Australia were $1.50 AUD. Somehow, one destined for sale on the streets of Oz ended up in that antique store! I know a few people who sell AUD issues and Aussie variants (not price only) to people in the USA, so that may explain it. Nice find!
  19. Be lovely to think he has amassed a 5000+ collection of Boba fett covers over the years, and much like Gigi Edgley from Farscape, opens up his own ebay store and sells his own signed books. Goodness knows he's made people enough money over the years with signed comics - bee nice to see him get a little cream on top! They certainly travelled the world doing cons - even came to Australia. Here's to a happy and prosperous retirement to them both!
