  1. I know I shared this in the other thread but after going through this one thought some toy enthusiasts may like to see. Picked these up earlier in the week.
  2. ...I just saw a new trailer on TV...I still can't help but just see "Will Smith" every freaking time instead of "Deadshot"...I guess that is part of the challenge when you get a "big name" playing a character.
  3. Yep. I would agree. For me, never a "steady stream"...Months with nothing and then boom a nice find followed by another nice find or someone contacting me. Definitely have to put in the time though to make it happen more often than not. I really should do more garage/yard sales but I am NOT a morning person on weekends
  4. Been a pretty good week...Just picked this up tonight too along with a few other books
  5. Buyer contacted me as he was getting out of collecting. We arranged to meet today. Buyer wanted me to look at some comics and toys. Normally, I only "deal" in comics but I have bought a few toys/related items and statues from time to time but this is by far my biggest toy score. Most of the comics were late 90's early 2000's and anything good he was either keeping, sold already or didn't have. This is what I closed a deal on this evening and just finished unpacking it all not too long ago. Figures were a little dusty (cleaned now), but are complete and unopened with minimal shelf wear. Pretty happy with the Cable and Deadpool and the complete Galactus Build a Figure Set.
  6. Sell enough for you're playing with FREE ones....then it doesn't matter what happens. The only reason I have any is because I decided to give a few Marvel relaunches a try, so I only have the one of #7 and #9...
  7. This ^^^ Don't blame Stan, blame the guy who wanted it signed by Stan.
  8. That detail was NOT known from the initial post, not until page 693...Read the posts you _____.
  9. Well, thats really a shame. Im sure if you knew me personally, you'd think otherwise I show 1 example of a great purchase and I am now a hated braggart lowballer. I suppose Ill have to find some way of living that down.... I don't think anyone would have a "problem" if you pulled this out of a $0.50 bin and just paid the asking price. I think what some are taking issue with is that it was ALREADY a "steal" of a price and you felt the need to haggle over a quarter when you knew the book was worth hundreds of dollars. To be honest, there shouldnt BE a problem regarding how much was paid for the book; the seller was content selling a volume of books at a discount of his asking price and the transaction was concluded amicably. Sorry if I missed that detail...I originally thought it was a single book purchase, not as part of a volume of books. Nice find.

  11. Yes, there are some books that have Stan's sig on that he had nothing to do with and really make little sense. Like the Batman book. I don't get it but people can do what they want with their book. This is not Stan's "fault". Guy wants to pay X amount of dollars for Stan to sign something, why should Stan act as some sort of "arbiter" as to what is an "acceptable" book for him to sign? It is the owners book, he paid Stan, so why should he say no? If you are going to "blame" anyone for Stan signing a book he had nothing to do with, blame the owner subbing it, not "the man". People act like (heaven forbid) Stan signing for $$$ is some "bad thing" - There is a market for it and I would be willing to bet that if most of us could command what Stan does for our signature, we would all likely do pretty much the same. As for bad sig placements, I am not 100% excusing some of the placements but it takes like 5 minutes to window bag your book. Blame yourself or the facilitator for not taking 5 minutes to make sure you go the sig where you want. Have you seen how many books he signs? Combine that with the sharpie, age, etc., why put your book in that position? I have a few books with Stan's sig on the interior and in ball point pen. The sig is nice and clean. You can see the change in his sig over time. Should Stan "take more care"? Absolutely that argument can be made but if you consider all the factors (age, volume, choice of writing instrument, window bagged or not) all the blame can't lay with Stan over books being signed that he had nothing to do with or poor sig placement. For every poorly placed signature, you can easily find examples of nicely placed signatures. However, as mentioned above, I still do hope Stan is doing for the right reasons (satisfying fans and filling his family bank account).
  12. Update - Current ASM's needed to complete the run: #1 to #12 #15 - #24 #27 - #32 #35 - #38 #40, #43, #45, #47, #48, #49 38 total issues needed to complete the run... My current personal "Top 5" key issues I want to go after are #1 (duh), #3 (1st Doc Ock), #6 (1st Lizard), #9 (1st Electro), #15 (1st Kraven). The top "common" book on the list..ASM #45...I love the bright yellow cover with Spidey and Lizard...
  13. Acquired this in a pick. Presents nicely but is low to mid grade. Good for now!!!
  14. I forgot to post this...Two weekends ago I acquired this as part of a larger pick...It was weird because the pick was all modern stuff, except for this. Presents pretty good for low grade. Most of the issues are along the spine and on the back cover (tear and gunk/stain of some sort) but all the pages are there and the central image presents pretty good I think, so it will make a perfectly fine "place holder" for now!
  15. Thanks...I was more than a little excited/please to say the least. I have learned so much since joining the boards, sometimes the hard way but I have learned about Whitmans, price variants, Canadian editions/whites...And STILL so much to learn! The knowledge on this board is astounding.
  16. We've chatted a few times, even prior to this find Stephen really, really knows his stuff!!!
  17. I rarely stop at Garage/Yard Sales...Mostly because I like to sleep in on weekends but my wife had to be somewhere and I had some time to kill so I decided to hit a few garage/yard sales. As can be expected, there was a lot of junk. One stop, there were a few old western comics, while out of my "wheelhouse" they were old, so I bought them. Here they are... Fawcett Movie Comic - Vol. 3 no. 13 (1951) Lone Ranger's Famous Horse: Hi-Yo Silver - No. 5 (1953) Motion Picture Comics - Vol. 19 no. 112 (1952) This article was inside the comic too...I guess the owner liked it Motion Picture Comics - Vol. 19 no. 114 (1953) ANNND the discovery of a very rare western book...I didn't know when I bought it...Just learned once I got home and looked it up... Roy Rogers Comics Giant Edition - 1947 (only published in Canada) I need to start going to yard sales regularly now...
  18. I'm hoping Vulture is a ruse. Or, maybe they go with this awesome version...
  19. Definitely NOT an antique or yard sale find but when you get a call/reply to your ads, you have to respond. This is what I walked away with. Little out of what I normally buy, but what the heck... Zenescope Art Book x 3 Zenescope Exclusive hardcover Zenescope Exclusives x 20 each Random Zenescope variant slabs...Middle one is competition slab MARVEL! 2 copies each of the FF book and Avengers photo cover book This is one I am keeping for me...Low grade but presents nicely...So random that seller had this, given his other collecting preferences... ...And the buy of the pick (I think)...Harley Quinn San Diego Exclusive, Limited to 1000 - Box has minor shelf wear, figure was only displayed briefly and is minty.
  20. I should have clarified, I was speaking more in terms of the general audience and reviews. Getting a RT score of less than 30% is a disappointment. I don't see how it can be seen any other way For the record, I think that the 27% score is undeserved. The audience score of 67% is closer in line to where I personally put it, at about 60%. I'm hopeful for the WW flick based on Gadot's performance.
