  1. This part sounds WEIRD: "advised me to destroy the 2nd Copy of Issue #6 and they will send me issue #4" But they REFUNDED you for the missing #4 and you left a Negative? To me, it seems there might be more to this story???
  2. When I first got into CGC, I did not know about the Newton Rings. I was surprised when my ASM #50 came back that in certain light I could see this "oil slick" effect. I called the facilitator and it was explained. Then did a bit of a Google search and confirmed. I think maybe CGC could do a better job of explaining them on their site but a little bit of reading goes a long way. I write policy for a living. Quantifying "acceptable" newton rings would be very tricky. Would you say no newton rings larger than a two inch radius and no more than two per front and back cover? I don't know how to apply a "general standard" for something that is going to vary from book to book to book and depending on the cover, may be fine for one and not the other. I think the best CGC could do is to to a better job "up front" about explaining the newton effect and QC should not let anything out that seriously impedes the eye appeal of the book. Regardless, the problem is LOTS of people don't bother to read. They would rather fly off the handle first and ask questions later. I get that Marky may have been uspet, but those videos and Facebook rants are waaaay over the top. They make comic collectors all over look and sound like complete person_who_is_obnoxiously_self-impressed bags. Maybe CGC is at fault for your book but long winded expletive filled ramblings don't exactly help your cause either.
  3. This - the buyer did nothing wrong. Did you refund his postage ($6), also (I certainly would have)? All this drama over a $23.36 book? I did not refund his $6, because he got the other three books he bought in the package. Really? I'd think it would be an obvious gesture from a seller who makes this kind of mistake. The buyer is a bird, pretty much. A mistake was made, FD gave the guy a refund...he also did all that he could to retrieve the missing book. It is a $23 non key book, the switched books was obviously an honest mistake....then the buyer complains about spending his time watching FD's auctions...bla bla blah.... Then he proceeds to neg FD. I would have been overly apologetic, refunded the $6 shipping as well, offered a $10 SA book, whatever...just to avoid a neg. Does that mean the buyer was right to neg FD? Absolutely not. It is not like the buyer "wasted his time" - He did get some books for his "efforts". FD explained the situation, apologized and provided a refund for the missing book. Could/Should have FD offered additional "compensation"? Maybe. However, how much "compensation" would have been enough to satisfy the buyer? Maybe FD could have said "look, I'm sorry, I can't get the book but I have refunded you the cost. Is there anything else I can do to make this "right" by you? Now who knows what the buyer would have come back with could have been reasonable or not reasonable but I think, at the end of the day, FD most certainly does not deserve a negative for this transaction.
  4. I think you have done all you can...Mistakes happen and you have been very up front about it, and given a refund for the errant book. To use the buyers phrase, a "reasonable person", especially one refunded, should simply chalk it up to "mess happens" and move on. It could be my suspicious nature but I feel that maybe the buyer could be "fishing" or hoping you offer some additional "compensation"... ...Also isn't "threatening" a neg a big "no-no" with ebay? Hope it works out.
  5. I liked it. I just wish the zombies were not of the speedy variety and I wish they used LESS CGI for the massive hoards, it looked a bit too CGI...I think they may have learned from the 1st and could do some interesting things with a sequel...
  6. So, to be clear, you currently have a job right? No shame in minimum wage work, but are you pulling decent hours? How many hours per week would you "guesstimate" that you spend scouring the internet and other venues looking for "deals"?
  7. On the third video did he REALLY rant for an hour and 21 minutes? If this is indicative of the type of guy Brittany has to deal with on a daily basis, yes, she deserves a huge raise. ...I also love the "unabomber" backdrop in his video... via Imgflip Meme Generator
  8. SO, did you or are you going to contact the seller and tell him not to worry about it, explain the situation and that the books are good?
  9. Dude, you could not be more wrong. This was a 100% normal part of printing. Send the seller an apology and chalk it up to inexperience with not knowing what goes into printing a book. I have TONS of books with these or similar markings...For instance, I am looking at a Suicide Squad #12 (1st series) RIGHT NOW that has similar markings, except it is a black bar. Normal. It's good. Move on.
  10. Did you not read the two posts above? The comic book was MANUFACTURED this way - It is NORMAL.
  11. Anyone ever have a buyer hit the BIN and pay for the item (I have BIN's set to auto payment required) and then immediately send a request to cancel? I have had this happen on auctions, but never a BIN... ...Never mind...0 Feedback bidder... Sigh...
  12. Agree. You didn't ask about combined at first. He ultimately negotiated down. You also could have asked to cancel the transaction but you wanted the books. If the books are as described, just don't leave any feedback...A neg or even neutral is not fair if the books are good IMHO. For the record, I do think the guy not combining is a move but given the variables, wouldn't neg him...Just don't leave any feedback and don't deal with them in the future. Guy probably lost a future customer for peanuts. Not smart.

  14. ....And Spoiled. Didn't know Flash was in it... i wouldnt have said it without tags if it hadnt been reported in the news several days ago ...S'okay I was partially kidding...I hadn't heard that yet but if I really wanted to avoid all I should not have been checking in...

  16. As they are rebooting Spider-Man, while I was initially not a fan of Vulture and now the with news of potentially the Tinkerer and Shocker being involved...I am coming around. I could see Keating being the Tinkerer who has some sort of beef with Tony Stark (drummy, jrjr said it first) and it is he who creates the Vulture wings and/or Shocker armor...Maybe he "rips off" the Falcon's design and Whiplash tech to create Vulture and Shocker? As great as Doc Ock was in Spider-Man 2, lots of people still remember him. We need time to wash off the stink that was the last Goblin. Doc Ock and Goblin are two of Spidey's biggest villains. Save them for later. As much as I would have preferred another villain, starting off with a few "lower tier" Spidey villains might be a good way to reboot the franchise. Regardless of the changes, I will be there opening night.
  17. Damn. What a psycho buyer! He B-Locked! X 1,000,000 Seriously, who has time to do this mess? If he has time to do that he is probably just waiting and sitting there counting down the milliseconds for his precious book to ship... The seller should have communicated something (or maybe there is a reason) but this guy is the epitome of self-entitled nerd.
  18. Thanks! I know I should "hold out" for a bigger book but I'm getting the itch to pick something new and shiny up...I already want to upgrade the #13 but left it out as I at least have one... Part of me also wants to just "knock out" the #40's to get em done...
  19. Recently sold a CGC book to Wendell and it was a flawless transaction and to top it all off he is a pleasant guy to chat with! Look forward to dealing with Wendell again! Two thumbs up!!!
  20. Going through a bit of buying withdrawal...Looking to make a buy soon...SO, here is a poll...
