  1. Spoke to one of the organizers today. Turns out a few vendors can't make it so there are a few extra free tables to vendors who want one. Without knowing if for sure I will have time to actually use it, I took a free table. Anyway, I now have a whole extra table I can use if I want...I was thinking it would be a good opportunity to just have a $1 - $2 table. I thought I was "done" getting ready but looks like not. Does having a pure $1-$2 table sound like a good idea for use of space (if anyone is reading)?
  2. If I recall correctly, Gabe took the blame for the mistake. Apparently he had several pages open and was looking at several copies of ASM #129 and got confused thinking the book was an 8.5 and that he was getting a good deal on it. You are correct. The book is still up on ICE under recent sales and it is correctly listed as ASM #129 CGC 8.0. There is even a nice scan of the book with the number clearly visible and zoom feature. When you go to check out it also states what you are agreeing to buy so he must have just clicked away and not bother to really read or look over the invoice. Gabe admitted to the error being his own as Logan stated.
  3. I have a feeling Gabe would send it to his presser buddy before he tries to just break even...
  4. So we have Kijiji and by my count it was on like 7 Facebook groups.... Does he have it on his eBay? Can't find him there I guess the theory is that if you have enough lines in the water eventually you will catch a sucker?
  5. It's in the VG+ to NM/M range. Still ...Do you take time payments though?
  6. Yeah I know what you're thinking but facebook isn't that bad I've made higher end sales there it's where I sold my BA12 CGC 9.6 ....And where did you meet these people who SCAMMED you???
  7. [quote=Logan510 I also have a bridge located in the middle of some swampland for sale if you're interested.
  8. Someone who can't pay for a book because their cell phone bill is due should probably not be buying $1000 books and I would be wary of. Someone only working 25 hours a week on minimum wage and $1000 in the hole from dealing in comics shouldn't be buying $1000 books either
  9. Don't hold the book, not without a non refundable deposit on it. Tell him you will continue to try and sell and when he has the money, if you still have it, you will sell it to him. But if he never asked you to hold it, I don't think you have recourse to blast him. Just don't ignore him going forward. This is why I don't deal in anything "high end" on Facebook. After I put in a lot of work, I got nothing as the buyer bailed on a bunch of books he promised to buy. Never again. I may be wrong in this assumption but to me, Facebook is worse or just as bad as eBay for this kind of nonsense. Before you "blast" the guy on Facebook, what were the terms you agreed to with the potential buyer? Don't want to burn yourself in the process.
  10. I just starting following this thread. Great advice. I need to clean up and organize my own Photobucket...
  11. I went antiquing with my wife this past weekend and I ended up picking up a few things that I will be adding to some long boxes and bringing to the show. Nothing "spectacular" but just shows it is always good to keep an eye out for things! Some comics I picked up for cheap that will be going into some long boxes with other stock and a couple of nice finds (1st Ego, 1st Black Goliath, Invaders #1, some Judas Contract, Surfer with Thanos tie-ins). The glass is from Pepsi "Super Series" (1976) and while it is a little "beat up" I love the box art on the DC Supercase (also 1976) and use to hold old 45 records. The back has Superman, Wonder Woman and Supergirl and will make a nice display item regardless. Thinking I might place some comics in it for display piece. I don't know I will have some toys this year so going to be playing around a bit with the look of my booth.
  12. Last cross-post Roy Rogers Annual. Giant Canadian Edition. No US version. Sole 8.0 on CGC Census and now highest graded copy.
  13. Roy Rogers Annual - 1947 - Canadian Edition. No US version. Sole and now highest graded copy on the CGC Census. CGC 8.0 and White Pages.
  14. Good for you, but I'm sure we are all on pins and needles to hear the particulars of the deal. He is asking $1050 for it on a few Facebook groups with time payment option.
  15. I like quotes and yes I do realize I can't vote for Trump but I don't want politics messing with my journal. I'm getting help from a life coach and a psychiatrist and as for comics I just need to be smarter with what I do because I do learn from them whether you believe it or not I night make them two or three times but I do learn. Gabe since WHEN did you actually start seeing a life coach and/or psychiatrist? Funny just a few days ago you mentioned that would be a good idea and now all of a sudden you have both? Fact is you don't learn. You pay lip service to it. Keep on failing bud. It's not funny to me you never asked and I've had her for at least 6 months and the life coach three months you guys don't believe I'm making any changes so I thought it was pointless to mention until you brought it up, Soooo...You have had a life coach for three months eh? Then why did you respond this way when it was brought up earlier just a few days ago? Posted on 09/07/16 Now that is some solid advice. I think a mentor is just the thing he needs, but it's got to be someone in person and not some well meaning internet buddies IMHO. Still looking for a person like that. Which is it? You say you have had a life coach/mentor for the past three months when just a few days ago you said you were still looking for a person like that. Oh that I have but their schedules are busy and I always get cut short because I talk too much. I do have both a life coach and a psychiatrist that I work with. A few days ago you said you didn't have one. Now you are saying you have had one for the past three months...Just so we are clear now, you DO have paid professionals helping you. Is that right? If so, have them read this thread. To clear things up one of them is paid and that's the life coach and the psychiatrist is in training but she's done two years of schooling and is honest with what I need to improve on with no sugar coating things. Paid life coach...Is it through a counselling firm or service? The psychiatrist is IN school and has two years of training? Something not adding up. In Canada to become a psychiatrsit you need about 10 to 12 years of post secondary education. First a BA in Science (usually) and then 4 years of medical school. Then specialize in Psychiatry... Only a licensed Psychiatrist can issue meds... Do you maybe have her specialty wrong? I don't know. To me you keep seeing medical professionals until you can get an actual diagnosis. Again things just not making sense...

  17. I went antiquing and flea marking shopping with my wife this weekend and I ended up picking a few things myself! Nothing to set the world on fire, but some cool things or at least I thought so anyways.... 32 comics I picked...Thor and Invaders pretty sweet...Nice run of Surfer books including Infinity Gauntlet cross-overs, Judas Contract and Deathstroke Titans books... A minty Epic #6 with sweet Neal Adams cover... A cool little pulp from 1956 A beat but complete He-Man metal lunch box with thermos, price was right (after negotiating) from 1983 AND probably my fave pick up...A 1976 Pepsi "Super Series" Shazam glass in perfect shape and a 1976 DC "Supercase" that was used to hold 45 records...It is a bit worn in spots but complete and has great graphics, thought it would be a nice display piece for my next show and I just don't see stuff like this in my area...Crazy these are 40 years old... The back of the Supercase has Superwoman, Superman and Wonder Woman
  18. So Gabe, what is it? Mentor/life coach and/or professional working with you or no? I like quotes and yes I do realize I can't vote for Trump but I don't want politics messing with my journal.
