  1. Hands down, one of the more popular Superior covers.....
  2. Plus the "Quick Lime" written on the bag gives it that 'ol 1, 2, PUNCH! Yeah, I also was looking at that bag of quicklime and thinking "what a nice touch!"
  3. Pov, that Crime Must Stop has a great cover! I Never see either of these pop up!
  4. Yes, he is running from the guard wolf while the dominatrix whips her elderly client.
  5. ACG certainly tried to hide their affiliation to this one. The indicia indicates "Best Syndicate" as the publishing group, however a few lines later the reader is told for advertising information to contact ACG. Given their expectancy of possible advertisers, I'd say they were testing the more extreme waters & planning on possible future issues.
  6. Purchased from the somewhat infamous dealer Ken Danker in late 1997.....
  7. Is it worth checking out? How many dealers attend? I try to go every year, but doesn't always work out. I go more for meeting creators and getting sketches these days as opposed to buying books. There was a sea of PCH last year- most all of it WAY overpriced. I walked away with only 2 PCH books and the rest was all bronze age. If you can make it to Chicago or San Dog I wouldn't bother with this one unless you don't have high expectations.
  8. They always have it the weekend of Thanksgiving. Going?
  9. Bought this one as PCH prices were starting to "boom." This was a Mid-Ohio Con purchase- one of the worst Mid-Ohio's from my perspective - can't recall the year. This was graded at Fine by Vincen'ts Collectibles and asking price was $100.
  10. I had to use the gremlin because there is no gremlin of Guru Pov Big Shoes Squashing Grasshoppers!
  11. Aha! You fell for my sneaky plan to draw you out, Guru! Of course, it was a one-shot...
  12. Very nice copy! I think the story title "The Clutching Hand" is a hoot, not for anything it may imply, but because it was also used as a series title by another publisher. This "coincidence" happened quite frequently with PCH & it always brings a smile to my face when I notice it...
  13. Scrooge - Thanks for posting that book! I can't help but think of a Scooby Doo character every time I see that monster, for some reason!
  14. Ya know, I kinda started to think that all the MM covers that BB drew with a victim, that the victim always appeared to be the same guy, or at least similar. What say you all?
  15. It was cover dated October 1954, and it is the last issue of the run. It contains reprints, as does 18. Guess the writing was on the wall.
  16. Here's MM 19. One big-time horror collector I've spoken with has stated that this is the hardest issue of the run to get, even having it in his top 10 hardest PCH books. I've seen it around a couple times, so I don't think I'd go that far. Any thoughts?
  17. Jayman - It sorta just worked out that some are better grades than most of the stuff. MM was a title I started buying very early in my PCH days when prices were much cheaper than today, so in those days I was buying issues based on "I don't have this yet" as opposed to "how much is it?" Often in the early days (93-94) I was buying issues I was seeing for the very first time. These days I've seen most of the horror stuff, & the purchases are based more on affordability.
  18. Take a wild guess..... I talked about it when I posted the Ken Shannon cover the WoE was swiped from.
  19. Fuel - I weep. I am sad. You still haven't downloaded my pre-code horror checklist? ::sigh:: ::gasp:: ::choke:: Men's Adventures 21_26 May_52 Mar_54 Oh the pain. The pain! Poor Pov! No one lsitens..... The Guru without a Grasshopper.....
