  1. Uhh, two posts below yours is a thread on it. But here’s the link.
  2. If you’re asking about cgc books, the Art thread forum might not be the best place for a robust discussion. I have no onions on the matter.
  3. I’d have Bret Blevins, Walt Simonson and Marc Silvestri do a huge Inferno battle scene.
  4. I picked up something for low five figures earlier this year and it has $100 written in the corner.
  5. This cover is giving me The Boys S2 E6 vibes.
  6. I’d never list art as trade only. Having said that, there are definitely pieces in my collection I’d only trade. Why? I don’t need the money more than the art I'd have to pay more than I did originally to get another example, and the way the market is, it would probably end up being more than I get for selling Some pieces I’d want could probably only be pried loose with trade bait
  7. Sold 10 days ago for 189.95 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Valiant-XO-Manowar-47-page-1-original-art-splash-page-/114415720283?hash=item1aa3b5575b%3Ag%3Aji4AAOSwSPFfZMBV&nma=true&si=%2B00leRkbyxHFp2v1o3sPcV2WGGk%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Now available for 575 https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1667080
  8. Be careful not to say Donnelly three times if it’s an unused cover...
  9. Without you naming the artist, it’s hard to say what you should do. As grape said, there are definitely some well known deadbeats. I don’t stress about commissions. I’ve rarely had an artist meet a date that they quoted, so I stopped asking. I’ll get it when I get it. I usually send an email checking in every month or so. Sometimes I get a response, sometimes I don’t. I never try to seem impatient or antagonist. Not because I don’t want to be blacklisted, but more because I don’t want them sending me something sub par just to get me off their backs. I’ve had artists turn around in a month, some closer to a year. I’ve heard stories about way longer. Commissions overall to me are an exercise in patience, but you do you. If you get the feeling that you’re getting screwed, put them on blast. Otherwise, just keep checking in now and then.
  10. I actually like having to rearrange portfolios when I get new pieces. Gives me an excuse to look at and handle art that might otherwise get a little neglected.
  11. Somebody got a discount waiting for open market. 13K, to 16K, to Clink 8601.
  12. Don’t read a ton of modern so haven’t kept up with Kubert... but man, his work it looking great.
  13. I wouldn’t say I’ve bought terrible art, but I have bought some basic, mostly uninteresting art when it was part of a larger bundle directly from an artist.
  14. Sold in July for $5040. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/jim-lee-and-scott-williams-uncanny-x-men-272-story-page-16-original-art-marvel-1991-/a/7231-94075.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515 Now available for $10K https://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Comic-Art-JIM-LEE-Scott-Williams-X-Men-272-Signed-By-LEE-And-WILLIAMS/264838926152?hash=item3da9a14f48:g:n64AAOSwP2VfPuXr
  15. It’s always a feel it out type thing. I did a larger purchase a few months back off CAF, and paid F&F with no stress. Hadn’t dealt with the seller previously, but they’ve been active since 2011 with some decent pieces, so I figured they’re in the scene enough that I’d hav some recourse if there had been an issue. But it was all good.
  16. I’ve seen a lot of those pages around for sale the last year or two, and none of them struck me. But this one is rad. Congrats.
  17. It’s hard for me to put too much stock in sales numbers from the early 90’s, since quantity over quality is what lead to Marvel’s bankruptcy.
  18. This isn’t mine, so I’ve linked to the gallery owner. Love it. https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=112657&GSub=13555
  19. As a follow up, a Clink rep saw my post and emailed me. I gave him an example of a piece I consigned in the past that would have benefited from some additional info that I provided. He agreed and apologized. So I do appreciate that they’re open to constructive criticisms and are willing to do better.
  20. I haven’t sold anything in a while, but I stopped consigning with Clink because so many auctions would end on holiday weekends, Fridays, etc... horrible for sellers on those days. That and there were a few pieces I sent that I wasn’t impressed with the write up, gave them additional info, but no changes.
  21. I’ve seen it touched on in other threads, but I’m always curious to see the random art that’s sometimes on the back of an OA page. I've found a few on my pieces, but this is definitely the most detailed. On the back of a Sienkiewicz NM page
