  1. 3.0 for nearly $7800. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Showcase-4-CGC-3-0-Origin-and-1st-appearance-of-Silver-Flash-Upcoming-Movie-/281679256122?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4195645a3a That's double last GPA from two years ago. -J.
  2. Lazyboy is just yanking our chain a little now. -J.
  3. That's just it. There isn't a generally accepted criteria for what constitutes a key beyond market demand. Even a first appearance needs demand to really be a key. First Spiderman-- key First Rocket Racer -- nope How about the first Rocket Racoon?-- before GotG, nope, afterwards, yup. Keys are simply the books that collectors feel are the most important, for any of a dozen+ reasons that change over time. It's really goofy to me that there are people insisting that Batman 227 isn't a key, even though most people would trade a dozen of the issues around it to get one. That's still not a "key". -J.
  4. Except that a lot of them aren't. I didn't realize that someone had declared you decider of what is "key". When a book costs 2-3 times what the books around it in a run cost, the market has said it is a "key" book regardless of whatever rules you've concocted in your head about what a "key" has to be. To my mind, the books that people are paying a premium for are "keys", regardless of the reason. I think I'm with Lazyboy on this one. Just because a book "costs a lot of money" at a moment in time does not elevate it to "key" status. Nor does a book being more expensive in a run. That term is bandied about far, far too often. -J.
  5. Nice copy. I've always admired it (and the other wicked books) in your sig line. Nice to see it fuller size. -J.
  6. I'd think it would go for more now that it is certified as a complete and un-restored cover by CGC. That would bring in additional and more confident buyers. I'd put it closer to $15k now. The buyer of it did well. -J.
  7. Considering how tough the book has proven to be in a 9.8, I say no. (especially if it's going to be Stan Lee). -J.
  8. Well, that, and actually having a character in the movie. Rick Flag ...and much like Yondu, nobody cares about Rick Flag either, nor is speculating on B&B 25 because of him. They're speculating on the book (just like they did with MSH 18) because of a title. Which is nuts and not sustainable. -J.
  9. By Crom, let me go toss straw in the pens....... It has more good buzz than Suicide Squad. Have you been on some of the other major boards, especially non-comic book boards? Suicide Squad is getting destroyed with ridicule. People are having fun with it. So I`m not the only one who sees a mediocre movie ahead with this. If I loaded up with Legends and Suicide Squad keys I would be dumping them fast. My son is in college. He says on campus that Suicide Squad is being discussed with much anticipation. So I'm not seeing a mediocre movie at all. As for keys. There are keys and there are keys. Legends 1 & 3? Yeah, maybe some unwarranted hype. Time will tell. Brave and the Bold 25?? THAT book has been overlooked for decades. Came out before the first JLA. I have a funny feeling people are going to take bath on them, and that`s were the hates coming from. People loaded up on the Suicide Squad keys expecting Suicide Squad to be another Guardians of Galaxy. If I am wrong I will be the first one on here saying it was a good or great Suicide Squad movie, but from what I seen so far I am not impressed. The buzz on college is based much on the a few of the actors - Jared Leto being at the top. Leto turns down a lot of roles and he has a serious following as a true overall artist. Will Smith brings serious established Hollywood start power. It's hard to imagine a flop. But this is DC. I don't see B&B 25 being high risk either. This is a SA key from 1959 by one of the two top publishers. Suicide Squad has enjoyed a few decent runs. IMO the book was way too cheap. Other than the words "Suicide Squad" on the cover, B&B 25 has nothing to do with this movie. -J.
  10. I'm on your team - that's just bat sh it ...and yet you'd both be jumping for joy and fast tracking it through CGC if either one of you happened to hit the jackpot and stumble across even a VF copy in a back issue box at your LCS. -J. Right, but that's because we like money, not the cover I like both. -J.
  11. Little surprised by her lack of azz. -J. It's all done in post-production. I hear a large portion of the CGI budget went to her keister. -J.
  12. Little surprised by her lack of azz. -J.
  13. "I see: The Thing, Phantom of the Paradise, Tom Hardy boys, Baby Spice, the girl from The Ring, zombie Jessie Pinkman, Val Kilmer & Will Smith" -J.
  14. A 7.0 just went for a little less than $2900 on heritage. -J.

  16. Let me know if you find a 7.0 for $7K, I'm in the market. ...the caveat likely being at grades below 6.0. -J.
  17. I feel like prices have been at or above that in grade for awhile now. Careful though, this is a key book that was a key before the movie announcement. But now that there is a movie announcement, it is even more key and therefore important. It's quite a bit over the last GPA sale. But like others say, GPA can be a trailing indicator. I suppose there have been private sales closer to the $3k range in that grade however, as $1k per point seems to be the consensus on the book at this time. -J. Quick eBay search shows: Stabbed 3.0 sale of $2,595 today (not sure when it will hit GPA) CGC 3.5 sale of $3,800 on Mar 14th Damn. I missed those. -J.
  18. It does look a bit like Expendables 4, but with a couple of random girls. -J.
  19. Welcome to the new economy of comic book collecting. (thumbs u At least DD has the cred of being a 50+ year old character that was also even Marvel's top selling character at one point (beating out the spider on a monthly basis). -J.

  21. A 3.0 just went for $2300. The book does seem to be surging a bit now. -J.
