Cool, brisk, sunny weekend in Vancouver for Fan Expo:
-
Seems like most comic vendors are lined up in a row from booths 207, 208 to 211 (Canadian Comics.net) except for Jigglypig Chad and Anthill Books and Comics at island # 511. I will be lining up to get a few choice comics hopefully signed by Art Adams and writer Stv Englehart:

Similar article reviewing the Van Comic Show was also in the Province newspaper from Monday.
-
Was this a warehouse dealer from north Langley? He picked up that collection of SA GL's and mixed copper, modern long boxes about 6 weeks ago.
-
Nice wide rows made it easier for those in wheel chair or baby stroller to get around the Van Comic Show. Here is Vancouver Sun page A6 article and pics about the show and ASM #1 low grade asking $8,500 Cdn funds: Vancouver Sun Feb. 25, 2019 pics

I believe that early Madhouse may be the 4th app. of Sabrina. Pretty scarce SA comic. That collector who had his storage unit robbed of all his comics also spoke to me, and the Brothers that promoted the PNE forum con. I don't think he had a specific list of the many long boxes of comics stolen though. Thank you @Black_Adam for being a shrewed purchaser of semi-key bronze, SA and GA comics from me and a good negotiator. Attendance was solid as there was a steady line up for 90 mins. straight with 2 persons selling admission tix and receiving Food Bank donations. Even at 2 p.m., there were still fresh customers streaming in through the front door. I think 1 of the ATM bank machines ran out of loot and the other ATM had to be repaired by about 3 p.m. Overall, my retail sales were about 20% above my average boosted by purchases from loyal Forumites. I will be vending at annual(?) Knights Comics and Collectibles Expo next on Sat. Apr 13, 2019. St. Thomas More Collegiate is fundraising to upgrade their library so my buddy and I wish to support them. Good cross-promotion by their Teachers' Association and eSports contest partnership. new pop culture Burnaby expo Sat. Also there is an inaugural Father's Day comic con in the Abbotsford Matsqui community hall: new Abbotsford comic con Sun. June 16, 2019

The 4 food trucks will be selling chicken wings, Macaroni and Cheese, coffee, pastries, pakoras, lemonade, etc.
-
+1. Guess they will adapt 'Dallas' time travel storyline for season 2:

I will try to attend FEV on Friday only. Have to dig around for some Steve Englehart written Detective Comics and Mr Miracle with Marshall Rogers artwork to get signed:
-
Sorry, FEV and Calgary Expo are both not listed on CGC's calendar of attending events unless a Signature Series witness can verify signatures without an official CGC booth at these events. CGC calendar 2019

Watched 9 of 10 episodes so far. Reminds me of Dark Phoenix and Harry Potter in a good way. Good use of 1970s and 80s music. Recommended.

Watched first 2 episodes so far. Umbrella Academy more interesting than Deadly Class. Only read 1 issue of each title before streaming so just had a bit of background on the characters and story.

JUSTICE LEAGUE VS THE FATAL FIVE (3/30/19)
aardvark88 replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
Interesting, as I thought the Fatal 5 were Legion of Super-hereoes villians (not JLA) from circa 1968.- 9 replies

Check out the reasonably priced published original comic art available for sale from Vancouver Comic (and Toy) Show's guest penciller Stephen Sadowski (JSA, Invaders/Avengers, etc.). Lots of competition at the PNE Forum about 1 week before the Fan Expo Vancouver.

I assume SA Marvel OA up to 1965 is all twice up or large OA that you desire? -

I enjoyed all 3 season 2 episodes so far especially how they expand upon newer characters and bring back season 1 villians. -
2019 California Comic Con - Post your Photos
aardvark88 replied to 50YrsCollctngCmcs's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Just watch out for California sun off-wht to tanning pages unlike your frosty wht pages from the tundra of Canada. Don't forget to attend the preview evening to scout out some choice comics from independent vendors that could not get a table in the sold out Cal Comic-con itself. -

California Comic Convention 2019 ( CalComicCon)
aardvark88 replied to TerrysComics's topic in Comic Events
Saturday's preview was like a forumite meet and greet. On Sunday, Robot Man had a nice mix of Atlas and discounted silver age DC and Marvels. I bought an interesting coverless first Vickie Vale Detective Comic but preferred not to have my pic taken at his booth. Terry Stroud was selling next to Mick R outside on the fresh air deck. Bought 2 CFA OA issues from Mick.- 125 replies
