  1. It's also a yellow cover which has a special appeal to many collectors...and argueably one of Schomburg's finest covers. A true classic cover.
  2. Ian, we've never spoken but I have come to know you through the boards. You are a pretty creative fellow which allows you to appreciate the creation of others. That is a very impressive feat you've accomplished.. if you don't mind a few questions. 1) has anyone else ever done this? 2) have you read all the stories? 3) do you have plans for the collection when the time comes to part with it? Roy.
  3. That is an awsome book! Hope you and the wifey enjoy it in bed!
  4. I'd love the cover even if she didn't have the green dress on. No laughing at good taste.
  5. Paulie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Billy, allow me. Paulie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after the fact allowance dispensation granted. Dang Lawyer. What up my Southern Fried Mo Fo Bro? everything great down here, sir. but we're broiling hot, with lots of humidity. not alot of fun outdoors for the next month or so. Yup. Pretty steamy here too. 7. That is one of my favorite covers of all time and the cornerstone of my collection. when you're ready to part with it!

  9. That is a good question and me being a Marvel Zombie would love to know but I think that the DC feat is much harder because of the greater body of work. You up to it?
  10. I believe him. Seriously it was pretty well accepted by most that he did it. His last issue was a New Adventure #26 or 27 that he paid a ridiculous amount of money for...I remember that being a big dilemma. R.
  11. "I don't know how to tell you this, but I'm kind of a big deal...people know me...I have every DC comic ever printed."
  12. Matt had it graded as a Moderate 7.5 and I agree. The resto is moderate not extensive and it grades as a 7.5 due to some back cover wear and some barely visible resto when in hand IMO. (thumbs u
  13. Nik, think of it as the Greek comic book Decathalon. Most don't finish...
  14. It all depends on your goals I would think. To have a complete collection of comics is one goal. To have an aesthetically pleasing one is another. I originally started collecting complete runs. Because I could not afford to, I found my self getting more bang for the buck by collecting select issues that I enjoyed. R.
  15. yeah really, of the 43 graded blue labels only 3 are above 6.5. I definitely got lucky being in the right place at the right time on this one. Brian, I'll add you to the upgrade list. And a lone 8.5 at the top worth over $7000 now I'm thinking.
  16. I was the direct underbidder. And I forgot to bid on that one.
  17. Holy krapp Roy!!! That is amazing! Got back from NY this morning, having a few drinks tonight and was just plowing thru some stuff to potentially sell tonight. Although I have no scans yet and the wife just said something about 'me' time, whatever that is........ I told her the 'me' time will be tomorrow night at the Foo Fighters concert. Dude, it's all about living in the spirit. Louise asked who's "me time" tomorrow night...hers or yours? Listen, you can make it up to me by taking me with you.
  18. Pre-emptive post to let everyone know that John (cd4ever) has probably had a tough week, hasn't had a sales thread in a couple of weeks and is probably going to get smashed tonite and post some sweet books at a steal of a deal.
  19. This past weekend at the Toronto Comicon I found this for her...she LOVES covers with green dresses so needless to say she is very happy with it!
  20. My girlfriend has started collecting Baker books. This was her first want when she realized how beautiful Baker's art is. I have rescanned it.
