Tim Sale DD Yellow sold for $9K on heritage
Now on Panel Page for $15K
DAREDEVIL YELLOW 2 PAGE 6 SPLASH by Tim Sale (panelpageart.com)
Price reflects TWO markups-- one for the dealer and another for the consignor. Might sell for $12-13k later this year if a willing buyer emerges...otherwise will be returned to owner no worse off.

I posted everything until 2014, but since then posting fairly regularly on a bi-weekly cadence— so 25-30 pieces each year— while acquiring around twice as many. Currently, I have roughly 35% posted on CAF with most of my Top 25 kept private for now.
I really enjoy the process of selecting and describing each CAF posting,. Also, I typically wait 6-12 months before posting any piece so I feel more confident it’s a “keeper” rather than “placeholder” waiting for upgrade.

Escalating prices throughout 2022 made OA collecting a challenge. Like many, I decided to let several (34) pieces go in order to acquire/upgrade new pieces (15) that better fit my long-term goals.

Really excited to share Marvel Secret Wars II Promotional Poster Art featuring The Beyonder vs. 70+ Marvel super-heroes by Ron Wilson. Back in 1985, the poster adorned the walls of comic stores and Marvel fans including mine! Drawn on a huge piece of illustration board with an image area of 22" x 34"!

Oct 21st is Wonder Woman Day…as DC celebrates the 80th anniversary of the Amazonian princess introduced in All Star Comics #8 back in 1942!
Here's a really spectacular Wonder Woman cover I was fortunate enough to acquire. 15 years ago at the Wonder Woman Day 2007 Charity Auction, Adam Hughes showcased this breathtaking gray-tone Wonder Woman poster art. Published as the WW Charity Auction poster and catalog cover. Mixed media in twice-up scale (12" x 18" image).- Sideshow Bob, alxjhnsn, Will_K and 2 others

Another reason I tend to be more public with my art is to hopefully reduce counterfeits. If a big piece from my collection is know to be in my collection, there is less a likelihood a counterfeit will show up for sale on the open market or if one does, it is more likely to be called out quickly as a fake. These are pretty big positives for me.
Great point Xatari. Perhaps, CAF galleries also serve as a theft deterrent-- especially for high profile pieces-- as the OA community (collectors, dealers, auction houses) would more easily flag stolen artwork compared to say non-pedigree comics, sports cars and jewelry. I figure a handful of emails and posting alerts in CAF, FB and the CGC boards would reach a significant part of hobby participants.

Thanks for the pix! Some really nice pieces just in these photos...That Secret Origins page with Doctor Fate is fantastic...
Yes, great photos, thanks for sharing. Perhaps dealer prices are high because the cost of acquiring new material from Heritage (or other auctions) are high. I saw dozens of 2022 auction pieces on dealer walls, mostly priced 40-70% over prices sold. The flow of consignments and/or private sales of quality pieces are significantly lower these days.

Dropped by the NJ ArtCon today for a couple hours, enjoyed seeing friends, dealer walls and some amazing private pieces. Focusing exclusively on original art makes for a unique experience for collectors. Here's a quick walkthrough video fo those unable to attend:

Those are bargains*
* in Nigerian dollars.Absurd what-planet-do-you-live-on pricing is nothing new for Los Bros, more hilarious is the suggestive $__9,500 discounts. "Regular price is 90k but we'll let this go for $89,500." What a bargain!

This is phenomenal. I have spent so much money on framing and rarely hang them (because of plaster walls and too much sun).
Do you have details on where you order the materials? Headwinds for me have been the mat itself. Michaels charges full price for a mat if not part of a package, which is stupidly expensive.
Also, I spy some Heritage mailers in the closet ;)
Thanks. Here are my materials and specs (sized to favor more covers and splashes, and to show some margin around published images)….can modify to taste.
Custom mats and boards: Matboardandmore.com
Acid-free foam boards and mats: 14.25 x 20 size, 10.25 x 15.75 opening for mat. I do “museum cut” with slightly larger bottom mat margins to enhance viewing; other choose to center opening.
COST => ~$6 per set (regular) $12 per set (twice-up) I prefer black mat / white board but plenty of options.Mylars: eGerber.com 4mil size 1422R (regular, $4 each) and 1824R (twice-up/DPS, $7 each) same sizes also available from BagsUnlimited and BCW
Lineco corners: 1.25” archival clear (adheres to mat, cradles corners of art) from Amazon.com

As an alternative to portfolios, I wanted to share my long-term OA storage solution that uses acid-free boards, custom mats and oversize mylars. Creates a unique storage/display solution that is (1) protective against bending, dust, pests incl silverfish and even flooding to some extent; (2) cost effective ~$15 per piece compared to framing but has a similar look and feel; (3) really fun to "flip through" art like a short-box of comics and share at collector meet-ups and (4) good for wall displays similar to dealer walls or art gallery that pieces can be easily shuffled or replaced.
I do three sizes for standard (10x15), twice-up/DPS (12x18) and poster size (22x28) art for consistency. Art can be stored this way safely in off-site climate controlled storage for decades.
For more details, you can PM me or some others storing art this way.
