  1. Yup. Pretty cheap too. I have a 9.6 currently but searched for years.
  2. So was the TOS39 page this last auction. Sometimes just having a page from a major nostalgic issue is enough for collectors. If it does stay low, I’ll be happy to grab.
  3. That Giant Size X-Men 1 page is going to be massive!
  4. I’ve also heard a different story, but obviously I have no direct knowledge. Does yours involve Stan’s handler?
  5. I picked up a lot of really great pieces this last year, but I’m going to select this one as my “best of” mainly because of its widespread appeal. Amazing Spider-Man #195 title splash by Keith Pollard featuring Black Cat in the second half of her two issue debut.
  6. I’m not familiar, but would you be so kind as to explain why you believe that to be true?
  7. Just catching up on all the Heritage hammers. So much for that market retreat. These prices are strong. Time to start saving again.
  8. Nice page though. After the comment above I did the math on a few pieces for fun to see if it checks out, and came up with a decent number of pieces that have appreciated $125/day over the past few years. Crazy. Not saying it's true of that pieces in particular, but it was an entertaining exercise.
  9. I hear you. I'm doing research today.
  10. Captain Marvel 1 cover by Mark Bright Sold 07/16/2021 for $8,750 on Prop Store https://propstore.com/product/captain-marvel-comic-1989/captain-marvel-no-1-cover-featuring-monica-rambeau-by-mark-d-bright/?& Yours today for $32,000 on eBay! https://www.ebay.com/itm/255702551405?hash=item3b890f4b6d%3Ag%3AQZgAAOSwZEFjDrS8&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5338181027&customid=4312&toolid=10049
  11. I've had some positive purchases from the dealer in question. Not always the horror story I read online, but I understand the general consensus. Just wanted to be straightforward about an alternative experience.
  12. Could be a non-paying buyer. That is a great piece!
  13. I think perhaps they were purchased as a collection then pieced out from the way it looks.
  14. Accountable to myself for continuing to get my collection up on CAF. It’s a personal goal.
  15. 💯 I find it a bit stale if we are always talking about the same topics, but when I see new art in those shows, I really enjoy it. Sometimes there will be a piece that goes on auction only to appear on a CAF show and the community gains some understanding/insight and maybe even newfound appreciation when seeing it through the new owner’s eyes.
  16. "The More You Know!" They aren't for everyone for sure, but I enjoy chatting art with Bill and Dinesh for a few hours several times throughout the year. I find that rhythm helps keep me on track to post and keeps me accountable. Additionally, I am grateful for what Bill has done for the community, and it's a nice way to give back with new content.
  17. The Wise app has been the best exchange rate in my experience. I have used it quite a few times when paying Annabel Kirby from Kirby's Comic Art.
  18. How many auctions has the collective community said that? For those of you who have been in the hobby through the last recession, I was hoping to get some insight. Everything, I've read seemed to indicate OA was one of the few "alternative asset classes" that not only didn't retreat but actually appreciated substantially. Forgive me for using banking terminology but hoping to better understand some of your experiences.
  19. Yes, I am finding the above to be true more and more frequently. I have also found people see dollar signs and an easy target based on what I show. Here is a peek behind the curtain... I entered the hobby a few years back and saw a small window of opportunity to scoop up a lot of pieces I personally enjoyed, but also believed I would be priced out of the market if I didn't act quickly. This proved to be true, so I am grateful for the timing. I sold my comic collection during the pandemic when prices on books were crazy high, thinking books couldn't sustain because of quantity and art would because of the rarity. My strategy with certain art pieces was to overpay slightly in particular situations in which it was necessary to sweeten the pot enough to entice reluctant sellers in hopefully a win-win for both. This was a deliberate strategy for a season with the awareness it was not sustainable long term unless the art market continued to grow exponentially. I reluctantly sold a few big pieces to cover my initial seed capital in respect to both comics and OA and now enjoy a zero-debt collection. I think I have around 50% of my collection posted, but I made the decision to save new uploads for reveal during the live shows I sometimes do with Bill and Dinesh. Dinesh's reveals are typically epic, so I need to ensure I have some way to be relevant when we all get together virtually. Even in light of the above, I still plan to post the majority of my pieces at some point. I like sharing and connecting with people who share similar enjoyment whether it be first appearance collecting or specific characters involved. In response to one of the other mentioned of "overpay posts", I have definitely seen a few of those regarding pieces I've grabbed; but I love what I buy and research a ton.
  20. Next up... Heritage tomorrow.
  21. I think I have a page from issue 2 if you do start looking seriously.
