Could it just be that the slabs were cracked and the books are now being sold raw? If this is the case, then the print run is correct. I could see this happening, especially if folks don’t want a voldy slab.

If this were to get slabbed, would the 714 that’s written on the cover drop the grade? Thanks!

I might be out of place here, but I thought the black label was considered the official “first printing” and considers an “error printing” of the book which is why they generally cost a little more. I’ve seen recent prices on the bay with the black labels being higher. Haven’t focused too much on sales but that what I’ve noticed. Unless of course folks are trying to cash out the prices tend to be a little less.
