The Pérez/Sinnott Back Cover to #22 deserves to be seen!

This was a 1997 raw purchase from Harley. What attracted me to the book were the deep rich colors and fresh snow white pages. I had this graded as "NM-" in my personal spreadsheet so I'm not disagreeing with the grade but I own so many worse looking books in CGC 9.4 slabs and a bunch in 9.6 slabs that I figured a 9.4 was quite probable. I generally do not submit my Silver Age books as I prefer to send in the Coppers I purchased new as child since for me they have deepest memories attached. However due to my immense enjoyment of the Season 1 & 2 of Stargirl I decided to move this into my submit pile late last year. The black ink on the inside front cover is so strong (deep black) even with the dark front cover it shows through. The effect is far more pronounced in the slab than it was raw. IMHO a Classic Murphy Anderson cover!

From what i've seen over the past 20 years at least at cons Boracks primary interest is purchasing Comics or Art from one table then looking to sell them at another table (or seemingly anyone he talks to, like me many times) for a profit. He always seems like a decent guy but that has zero to do on his acumen as a professional business person. If what you said is true, then that is very scary and yeah they might be toast. I had wanted them to succeed very much but they lost the battle of perception years ago. BTW as long as he sticks strictly to Consignment end, it could be perfect role for him?

It's still going to cost WATA solid coin to defend themselves, possibly heavily alter the future perception of their firm, and perhaps evidence into the arrangement with Haspel will be brought to light. One can only hope!

Looks like krap so yeah I'm dissin' it . CGC costs at all-time highs and rising and they have NO interest in resolving a CHRONIC issue that does not seem to affect their competitors. While I did get stuck with a few I refuse to purchase any CGC slabs with Newton rings, something that has become exceedingly more difficult due to their proliferation.

Every issue of Fantasy Masterpieces v2 had a direct sale counterpart.

Agreed ! In fairness the double cover was 9.4 outside, 9.8 inner. I personally don't care if book has quadruple covers I'm not going to spend 9.8 money for something that slabbed presents as 9.4 A month or 2 back in Evaniers blog he mentioned rights being optioned etc are all BAU and he stated seldom comes to fruition. A harsh lesson for those who spent 1.8K (9.8) on a book that will may very well be under $550 by year end. My guess is in 1-2 years the book settles at 350-400 unless some huge miracle occurs and property gets animated then somehow becomes successful. Investments that depend on miracles are already lost investments

This was originally a $5.00 raw purchase in the 90's. First magazine sized book I sent to CGC just after they expanded in to the mag size arena. IIRC at the time it was the highest graded but no more. There was a time back then when The Kirby issue #11 was one of the most sought after issues of the title. Times have changed. As for the original post: My opinion: I just don't see any of the issues hitting 10K except as an outlier. Even if #10 did in 9.8 not sure it would hold there? They really ain't comics and I feel for many simply lack the required cachet. Now if there were enough in High Grade to be manipulated into the next hot thing well then who knows

Battlestar Galactica #1 - Late least year the regular/standard edition CGC 9.8W was around $100, the Whitman 3-Pack Distributed w/diamond price area + blank UPC was $150-$200. I see now the standard is going for $410-$430. 60 days ago in March's Iron Man he was portrayed as hero.... At this point not sure why the character/property should have any fans as he's portrayed 180 degrees differently at the drop of a hat.

IMHO Nope! Given what I see in the pics if not done properly pressing might even lower the grade. I guess the C&P might make the back look a little nicer?? My feeling is the risk is significant for at best what will be a minor rewards probably not even meriting a .5 jump. Of course, I'm no expert in pressing but there are some here who are.

Occasionally Marvel had new art commissioned for their reprint books. Here are 2 examples from Mr Rosa's old collection: When Ditko returned to Marvel this was his first task: I am curious to know why Marvel used what appears to be a generic inventory cover rather than the Hulk 130 original I have great memories of fishing this one out of 4 for $1.00 section at my first trip as child to a comic book store.
