As TV and Film related goes Key Trek 1 is genuine blue chip. Unlike Star Wars 1 supply is ultra low My opinion given how difficult to find in 9.0 or above the growth potential is huge. I feel probable a 9.2 with WHITE pages 5 years from now will b a 25-30k book. hold on to it tighly or you will have huge regrets

IMHO hold on to #1 to fund a possible early retirement. Unlike poser books Trek #1 has significant steady continued growth ahead. Hold on to it tightly, future you will be very grateful you did

Mike's is a great site but the data ofttimes is not accurate, I've seen this over and over again with on-sale dates. Of course not being accurate can easily be said about Overstreet, CGC and the GCD Edit: After doing more research; #84 is confirmed as Miller's first/earliest work that was published however it's unclear if WW64 or Zone84 was on-sale first. As Western (Gold Key / Whitman) did have their own distribution channel for non-newsstand sales it's plausible Zone 84 was out a week prior to WW64. Also plausible Zone 84 was on-sale at same time or a week even 2 later. I'm not sure we'll ever truly know which was on-sale first and where, but I will say Zone 84 is a significantly more difficult book to find in any grade than WW64 and big-time Miller fans should want Zone 84,85 and WW64

Good logical point. However I thought same in 2007 and in terms of art dropping it did not occur. I think worst case mid 6 figures items and higher might slow a bit. What I would really like is to be able to go to a con again with 1K in pocket and actually have enough to buy a single late 70's Superhero page again When I started in art I could bring home 3 DC or 2 Marvel Bronze covers for that ... Anyhow its not going to happen!

Watched EP1 just now. Trek shows usually start off slow and get better over time, this one started off as solid. Really enjoyed it, cast has nice on-screen chemistry. For me it showed great respect for the original. Chapel is a hoot! Very Entertaining!

In my opinion the Zones and the Weird War are not indicative of what would follow for Miller. Peter Parker 27-28 interiors we saw good solid glimpses but for my eyes the first time Miller truly looked like Miller is Daredevil 158. Anyone know who inked Miller on those Twilight Zone issues?

While same cover date (or cover code for GK's), As I recall reading Gold Keys books at the time were distributed for sale 4-5 months prior to cover date and Marvel and DC was approx 3 months. Any GK/Whitman/Western experts here?

Merely curiosity? Or is there another reason for asking? Overstreet has noted it for at least 28 years - I went back to 1994 the oldest one I have handy. I first recall seeing it mentioned in the early-mid 1990s in CBG (Comic Buyers Guide). Miller has confirmed it as well in interviews. For a long time no one seemed to care that much about the Zone issues, but in moderns times its must have 1st this and 1st that. Serling by Miller - Cool!

IMHO the only certain way to remove potential bias is to deslab before submitting.

Miller art on one story in #84. A Low print near end of run double-size book My guess is demand for the few 9.2's and Higher exceeds supply and would have much competition among Miller super-fans if they come up for regular auction? There is also a Miller art on one story in #85 which although still difficult is easier to find 9.2 and higher compared to #84. Sent my 84 and 85 in last Oct perhaps they will be back this coming Oct???

In the context of that comicart-l thread it was that "Cover" was begin used to hype a way to increase the cost of the item. Yep, Nowadays it does not matter as sellers make up whatever copy they want Los Bros style, as long as off eBay, without recriminations. I do wish I had an archive of some of those comicart-l topics there were some fun reads there. Due to the lower dollars amounts involved on art the board skewed towards more fun than this one in the now.

I do agree but it's a very high pop book and going rate in 9.8 is sinking. Going rate now in 9.6 is $60-$70 and dropping. In 8-10 months when the book returns to the submitter a 9.6 might be as low as $35-45 . IMHO simply not worth the grading and pressing fees and probably loosing money if it falls short of 9.8.

Or how about rewarding people still on the job and try to retain some of the under 20 comic graders they have left. Laughable that 2 full years into the deluge and CGC has less graders than before it started. For those that disagree CGC would be jumping up and down hyping how many new additional graders were on the job if there were any. Expect the TAT's to increase each day as the few comics graders they do have dwindle further. Rather than Comic/magazine graders CGC is now seeking VHS tape graders and soon to come Booger collection Graders think that's absurd; well it snot

I've been wrong before but Blackstone analytics actually show this as bringing in real revenue over next 5 years? Well I guess anything to keep from allocating money to introduce a semblance of quality control at CGC I guess. When will they start to grade NFT's? Funny don't read much about those lately.
